There is a busy and popular restaurant, but we ate in the bar, which welcomed our well behaved collie with a bowl of water. Some of the children in the restaurant were less well behaved, which is unfortunately becoming the norm these days.Good choice of Sunday roasts, we had beef and turkey, there's a sharing platter if you fancy a... Been here quite a few times, best steaks ever! Cooked to perfection. Also the whitebait/blanchebait is amazing. I Like the decor it also has a nice atmosphere, cozy areas too. The conservatory is a bit cold/drafty in colder months, but the area with the fireplace is the nicest. Local ales, and tasty old mute ciders.

We've eaten at the Plas Derwen a few times over the years but never stayed overnight. Our room in the main building was clean and comfortable with a bit of character (slightly uneven floors and original fireplace) but everything we needed including free wifi. Our room faced the main road but we weren't disturbed by traffic noise and on the... More

Poor customer care. Service was so slow that our lunch arrived 2 hours after our table booking. No apology and at times felt we were invisible! Starters and lunch were nice but everyone fed up by the time our food arrived. would not recommend.

We ate here on two consecutive evenings - the food is lovely, the staff are very pleasant and helpful and it is not overly expensive.

We ate at this pub as a group of 5 on a Friday evening, and everyone throughly enjoyed their meals. It's a lovely looking pub with large garden areas, and also dog friendly which is always nice. Between the group we had; pork tenderloin, chicken/ham/leek pie, salmon, steak, and the salmon - all of which were absolutely delicious. We also... More

Had a lovely meal. Everything was freshly cooked and served. Staff were very attentive. Nice dining area overlooking the garden. Spent the night. Room was clean. Breakfast was great with a choice of items. Every employee was willing to help with any request.

Popped in here for an early/late roast dinner. Didn't disappoint. Fantastic service from the staff, and the roast dinner was superb and filled a hole 😜

We spent a long weekend at Plas Derwen. We had a large room in the converted stable block which had not only a spacious bathroom but also a sofa as well as a bed. Would definitely recommend requesting a room in the block as they are really spacious and well equipped. The restaurant provided a good choice of breakfasts and... More
