Six of us celebrated my significant' birthday and the Duke of York was everything other reviewers had said. Friendly welcoming staff, lovely and well priced food and they easily found a dessert for me which was not egg based. Very relaxing atmosphere and would certainly eat there in the future. It certainly lived up to its excellent reputation. Thank you.

Enjoyed an excellent afternoon in the Beer Garden area with my grandchildren and their families having attended a family Christening nearby. The Buffet food provided by the staff was outstanding. The pub service was really professional and friendly and the pub appeared to authentically Old English in appearance. All in all the entire party who'd travelled from various parts of... More

Thirteen of us got together to celebrate the life of a wonderful mother. The food was great, fixed price meals made it really easy to split the bill and £12 for 2 courses (including lamb shank) was great value. Staff are really friendly and despite a warning that we might have a wait it all turned up fairly quickly and... More

Wonderful selection of food, we really were spoilt for choice. The whitebait was voted the best ever tasted. The Steak and Stilton pie was incredible with melt in the mouth pastry and the tenderest of steak filling, with a great selection of vegetables. Sweets were delicious too. We felt very welcome in this delightful pub with its friendly atmosphere and... More

What a lovely pub - pity about the diversion but we made it and the food was worth the travel. The staff was welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, friendly and the art work on the walls added to the lovely warm feel of the place. There was plenty of choice of main meals and the desserts were plentiful... More

Very friendly staff.the choice of meals was very good. I ordered the seafood plate with a salad side. There was also a dish of freshly cooked vegetables served. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The scampi was very plentiful and served with chips. The rest of our companions also enjoyed their meals and the plates were empty going... My partner and I decided to eat at the Duke of York based on the recommendations of several people in the guest book of the holiday park where we were staying next door. We were not disappointed that we chose this pub as the location for our meal on the last night of our holiday. We were warmly welcomed to... More

It is many years since we had eaten at the Duke of York, but we were looking to take some friends out for a meal and fancied somewhere we hadn't been for a while just for a change. Unable to find any website to look at a menu, we were almost put off from going, but some good reviews from... More
