Looking for somewhere to have breakfast as our first stop was closed due to a broken grill, we came across this place on the corner. What was very helpful was the menu and prices were clearly displayed outside together with their trip advisor sticker on the door so we decided we would go in. Greeted by a lovely lady she... More

Full English breakfast on a cold frosty morning, friendly service, freshly cooked food, at reasonable prices. Why would you go anywhere else. Works for me.

I had intended to go to the Nero's right next door but their line was to the door and I noticed that this (presumably locally owned and run place) was still empty just after opening time. The lady there was so welcoming, the coffee was great and the prices reasonable. Thank you!

Needed to kill some time waiting for the train wandered into town came across this spot. Had a coffee and the soup both were superb and reasonably priced. The staff were quick and friendly. And though quite busy it wasn't loud at all. Would definitely recommend!

Today I stopped by cowardines for the first time. Tempted by the cream tea, myself and my step father took shelter from the rain and sat down to indulge ourselves. whilst there I noticed a man and his assistance dog enter, the pleasant young man from behind the counter immediately came round to the front to pet the dog, then... Since we last went here in June 2015, this café has sadly gone downhill. There's a different, less varied menu and it's a bit more expensive. We also had to wait a long time for basic food. There are now different people working there and while one young waitress was chatty and helpful, the other middle-aged lady one spent most of... More

Called in on Market day and Xmas season so it was rammed. Whether this is the norm I don't know but its very popular! I can imagine the kitchen is quite small as dealing with volumes became evident with a 20 minute wait for a cooked breakfast. However, it arrived and it was delicious and came with a very sincere apology.... Our first visit to this well-run, traditional restaurant, located 2mins stroll from the central market place. The lovely and informative welcome set the scene for great service throughout. Between the 2 of us; parsnip & sweet potato soup, toasted filled sandwiches, (cheese/ham/salad the best I've ever eaten), ham/poached eggs/chips and beans. Everything was delicious & looked great on the plate.... More
