Eat outside or in. Many cosy crannies inside with plush furniture perfect for small groups. We has seared trout with Israeli couscous with a tomato base, I think, and squash bits. Dabs of a yoghurt (?) with mint or maybe parsley for garnish. The trout skin was thin, crisp and tasty. The couscous a lovely complement. I don't live there,... More

It was a glorious day and we ate outside in the big square, but one can also find an outside table at the other end of the pub (Fish Row?) and inside is nice too. We had to order at the bar but after that the food was brought to us and both staff members were lovely. The food was... More

This is well situated off a large square. The meal we had was averagely priced and good value. I paid £7.15 for a 250 ml glass of La Petite Rose. I think it was overpriced but apart from that we had a very nice evening. The weather was very good so most people sat outside. The background music was very... More

Tables away from the bar are quieter; service is pretty good, and food above the usual pub standard. Very central in the heart of Salisbury bythe market place.

We popped in here after visiting the cathedral, there are so many pubs and restaurants in one area here you are spoilt for choice but thought this looked nice and cosy from the outside. Inside is really lovely, it's a very attractive pub. We found the menu quite limited and VERY expensive as were the drinks but guess that's what... More

Week day Lunch with a pint of London Pride. Beer was excellent however the food, which is no that cheap, fell short of the mark for the cost and was just ok. Steak pie n chips + veg £13.50. The pie and shredded cabbage were reasonable as was the gravy. But the chips were too well done and ladened with... More

Hi Gary, I'm glad you enjoyed the beer and pie, but I agree that the whole meal should live up to the expectation and I'm sorry this wasn't the case on your visit to us. The fish situation has since been rectified, there was a small issue with the quality from the supplier but we have sorted the problem and... More

Popped in for lunch to celebrate my Birthday, The pub is very pleasant but the food was very poor. The pie I had lacked seasoning and the veg was undercooked. My Mum had the fish & it had to be sent back as it was undercooked, it was replaced but the replacement the batter was almost burnt, all in all... More

We recently travelled to the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury where we dined at the Ox Row Inn. The pub is rather charming, beautiful and traditional. After dining here I was not really impressed with the food that I had . I found that my starter was rather dry, bland and lacked taste and flavour. After a rather disappointing first... More

Only popped in as we had an hour to spare before our evening started. Charcuterie board with handcut chips to share. An eye watering array of guns all paired beautifully with suitable mixers. Only one down side. White bread on the sharing board. This really should have been something a little different. Fantastically friendly staff

Hi Homecomforts, Thanks for the great review! We actually stopped trading in over-the-counter guns in the late 19th century but I get what you meant ;-) I'll pass your message regarding the bread to the kitchen staff, and very much hope to see you again soon! All the best Dom More

Having opened in 1594 we are a traditional British pub with original beams and open fires. We serve food between the hours of 1100 and 2100 daily with waiting service available in our upstairs Dining Room. We can accommodate private functions, tour groups and buffets in our Dining Room. With highchairs available we are baby and child friendly and can provide colouring pencils and books to keep the little ones entertained whilst the adults relax! We also have dog biscuits free for all the pooches we allow into the pub. There is a large seating area on the Market Square which is perfect for the summer time to relax and watch the sun go down. We have a wide selection of drinks including local ales and Fuller's very own London Pride which are incredibly well kept. So, drop us a visit and see what we have to offer for yourselves!
