This is a very popular place to stop for a cuppa and tables fill up quickly - be sure to grab a seat before you order and pay at the counter! Decent price cup of tea or coffee, scones are good, today we opted for the soup (potato & watercress) which was delicious. The cafe is housed partly within a... More

Although I have visited the Cathedral several times, I never realised that there was a cafe attached. In the summer it must be lovely sitting outside but on a cold, wet and miserable day in Winter it was rather pleasant to sit indoors! A very busy cafe although there always seemed to be somewhere to sit - the cafe is... More

Terrible experience with the café!! Asked for a strawberry's tarte and it came with shrank old strawberries and the tart completely wet. I asked to swap for something else and asked for a scone-full of proper green mould and the waitress left them still there to sell after I told her about the mould. Really good to get a food... My friend and I went here for lunch. It was busy but we managed to get a table. It's not waiter service. You go to a counter where you are given your main course and help yourself to vegetables and drinks.I had soup and a roll and my friend had steak pie and vegetables. We both really enjoyed our food... More

Beautiful setting, very nice decor, croissants also very nice (butter and jam extra) Just a let down with the machine coffee... could do with some barista training I think. However the staff very friendly and accommodating.

Out shopping with a friend we both felt quite hungry so looked around for somewhere to eat. We came across this restaurant hidden at the back of the cathedral and had a lovely home cooked lunch in picturesque surroundings. Will definitely make a point of visiting it the next time I am in Chichester. Very good value for money as... More

Once again we chose to meet at the Cloisters, for we knew the lunch would be delicious and reasonable in price - and once again we were not disappointed! The award winning hospitality staff are friendly and welcoming! At lunchtime the place is buzzing with locals as well astourists and day trippers, but you always seem to find a table... More

My wife and I were told about this wonderful place for Sunday lunch in Chichester. We had 2 roast dinners, drinks, and sweet for about £23. Fresh and plentiful ( the food not my wife of course!) and plenty of space to sit outside in the shadow of the cathedral on a beautiful autumn day too. Recommended

You hardly realise this cafe/Restaurant is there. Seemed almost hidden at the back of Chichester Cathedral, but well worth finding. We chose a bowl of salad. You take a bowl and then fill it from a large range of salads. Delicious. We will be back as there is a range of lovely meals and snacks to choose from.

Description
Cloisters Cafe prides itself on fair trade suppliers and freshly cooked food, featuring dishes such as smoked haddock with a gruyere and tomato gratin, supreme of chicken in a mushroom and tarragon sauce and roasted sweet potato with a bean ragu. Old favourites also appear on the menu along with baked potatoes and a range of hot and cold sandwiches.

There is a roast on Sundays when bookings can be made in advance. Cloisters also has a beautiful walled garden and the stunning Cathedral spire can be seen through its glazed roof.

Next to our cafe is the Cloisters Shop, offering a range of unique and gorgeous gifts and accessories, souvenirs and religious items. A perfect way to round off a visit to the Cathedral, or just to find that special present.
