A great old pub where tall folk have to duck under the beams! Huge food menu and terrific atmosphere. We're from Australia and visit here for dinner every time we visit our family in a nearby village. Better than your local pub!!

Excellent. Visited a lunchtime great service and great food would definitely come back. This is a traditional pub where you are made to feel very welcome. We look forward to coming back

A nice member of staff showed us to our table. It went down hill from there. Mine was a Mediocre main course, Cajun chicken which came with frozen chips and unpleasant garden peas. The worse was the dessert. Eaton mess; it certainly was. I chose it as it was on the 'homemade' desserts board rather than the dessert menu which... More

Average food and lack lustre service. When asked for the vegetables to be changed as they were SERVED almost cold, I was told "well they have been on the table for a while". Not what I would call good customer service, needless to say I won't be returning.

We had a small group of walkers/runners meeting at the pub on Sunday. Derek and his staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed eating our food and drink outside by the stream in the sunshine. We all said what a lovely place to meet up and would definitely be returning.

We had a lovely meal out at the Pheasant on Bank Holiday Monday , our steaks were beautiful, well cooked. Great service and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

This is a nice country pub which has been run by the same people for some years. Very popular with nice seating inside & out. The food is reasonably priced & in the main decent pub grub. Quite an extensive menu which sometimes means certain dishes miss the mark as they are obviously pre prepared & Frozen i.e. The fish... More

We went here for a meal on Saturday lunch time, the place was reasonably busy but no problem getting a table, plenty of choice on the menus and a board up with specials on, nice quite pub in a small village location, seating is also provided outside next to the stream, not that there was much water in it. Would... More

Stumbled upon this lovely little pub today, very warm welcome by all the staff and the food is the best country pub food we have had in a very very long time. The pub is very olde worlde, beautifully designed, clean and cosy, very varied menu so much to choose from. The portions are very good and value for money,... More

We had booked a table in this very popular eating pub (it's certainly not a "local") and waited an hour for the food to arrive. There were three of us and the food, when it arrived, was tasty. The desert menu was at the bar and none of us saw this menu, otherwise I would have definitely had an Eton... More
