Family reunion, 14 adults. Nothing booked. We chose this pub as it didn't advertise music and catered for all dietary requirements. We found a fantastic pub. Considerate helpful staff. Nice range of beers. Food was well presented and good value. I would definitely recommend this...More

Coventry's been cursed for a few years wth the choice of decent pub but no food, or food and ropey pub. Since a revamp a couple of years ago, the Golden Cross combines the two. It's simple, down to earth, but well cooked and tasty....More

After a stroll I decided to open trip advisor and see what was nearby that people liked. Only round the corner would I find this gem. The building is stunning, and inside the decor is tasteful, homely and clean. I don't think I've ever been...More

My friend and I ordered one beef and one chicken Sunday roast. Nice Yorkshire puddings, really fresh, and plenty of gravy!

Use trip advisor on a regular basis to try to assure I stop or eat at good places. Never let me down until now. Went for Sunday lunch food was below par. Salad served on same plate as Mediterranean chicken so soggy due to sauce....More

I am very sorry to hear about your experience. The lamb we use for our roast meat is a boneless rolled leg of lamb, so yes it is off the bone but it is normally very tender and tasty. We have never had an issue...More

Great selection of food for carnivores, vegans and people with celiacs disease. As a vegan myself I was delighted with the wide selection of vegan dishes and the quality of the food. I would recommend this pub to anyone no matter what their diet.

Rang to book lunch for 7 on Sunday morning about 10.30 - told earliest they could do was 1.30. This is a nice old pub, with beer garden/yard very close to the Cathedral. Served promptly just before 1.30 in the upstairs dining room (actually the...More

Description
The newly refurbished Golden Cross is the oldest pub in Coventry, built c.1583 and a pub from c.1661. It features the traditional Tudor jettied upper floors, with exposed beams in the interior. There will be real ale served, from both near and far and live music at least twice a week. Traditional pub food will be served, all made in house. We also offer a huge range of gluten free meals, with almost all of the menu being naturally gluten free or having a gluten free alternative.
