Friendly place, open late. Food was only OK. Samosa was good but the lamb dishes were bland and a bit fatty. Won't be going back

Excellent vegetarian food. Brilliant service. Great value for money. The shared plate was five meat and five veg. You get a boiled egg in the centre. Filling and healthy. I recommend the Ethiopian beers.

I went to the Blue Nile in December for a birthday. It has on street parking and the restaurant was easy to find (inbetween the Church and the Lord Clifden pubs in the Jewellery Quarter. ) First impressions were good, it is a spacious restaurant with lots of authentic fixtures and fittings to remind you that this is an Ethiopian... We had the meal for three - it was really good - a welcome opening to Ethiopian food. Service was great. Booked online, got confirmation quickly. Restaurant however was not as full as it should be. Despite the lack of customers at the time, it felt very welcoming, and we were encouraged to try Ethiopian cuisine and the beer. Food... More

I had my first Ethiopian/African food with my partner. The waiter was really polite and nice, he gave us complimentary coffees at the end. It's nice and quite there. Definitely recommend it.

I hadn't tried Ethiopian food before so I decided to visit the Blue Nile with a friend to see what it was like. Best decision ever! This has become my favourite restaurant in Birmingham hands down. This place does vegetarian food like no other, and such variety and flavour as well! I have brought my friends here and time after... More

We had the Blue Nile sharing platter. Very tasty and a wide variety of flavours from the 10 dishes on offer on the platter. Although it says for two people it would cater for three

The Blue Nile is sited on a busy main road just at the edge of the jewellery quarter; the area doesn’t look great, but is actually fine. There is road parking in the evenings. The restaurant itself is bright and cheerful with plenty of tables. There service provided by the barman/waiter is excellent (he even advised us that we were... More

First time I tried Ethiopian food before, it became the best restaurant I have ever been to. But this place, unfortunately, didn't live up to the expectation. I appreciate, it could be because the food was delivered, but the taste really wasn't great. Very oily and no flavour.
