This former bank has all the ingredients for a fun night out with friends: a lively laid-back vibe, great modern Peruvian food and one of the largest r...
Birmingham's first Peruvian restaurant and bar opened by Michelin starred chef Robert Ortiz, Located in Moseley Village, Birmingham. Serving modern authentic Peruvian Cuisine.
We enjoyed a tasting menu - the portions were great and there was such a variety of colours and taste!
The service was friendly and speedy as well!
The mocktails were excellent - these are definitely recommended.
Fantastic Peruvian taster menu experience, really unusual & varied flavours, attentive staff, cool surroundings in an old bank - a special night out. Good effort team chakana!
Early evening booking, not many people there but got busier by 8pm. Nicely decorated, friendly welcome and helpful attentive waiter
Meals very well presented and tasted delicious, everything explained
We have just had the most amazing dining experience.
We have been lucky enough to eat street food to fine dining all around the world.
Not yet visited Peru but will after this meal.
From the out side you would probably not notice and walk...on by .
Inside is very pleasant and clean.
The service was very good and very informative .
The sea food starter is the best we have ever tasted.
Our mains where beef and lamb both where delicious with a Peruvian twist .
It’s a little off the beaten track but only a 10 minute taxi from city centre.
Unbelievable value for money we paid triple this in a Michelin restaurant in the city centre .
This is a genuine review and we are going to share and visit again with our friends.
Congratulations it was amazingMore
I love Peru
Superb experience at Chakana. Everything was really special from the food and service all the way to the fantastic cocktails and selection of piscos. You have to try a pisco sour or 2!!!
Food beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. The sea bream ceviche and the lamb were definetely the highlights. I also think England could take note on the different types of potato used in Peruvian cuisine.
Staff very friendly and accommodating, I'm...glad I went with their recommendations.
Well worth the visit.More
Birthday Treat
My family and I chose to visit Chakana to celebrate a big birthday and boy were we pleased we did. The service throughout from Bo was impeccable, she helped with advice on what to order and was super friendly too. The food and...drinks were absolutely outstanding, we all agreed it was some of the best food we have eaten in a very long time and certainly the most unusual and unique flavours ever. The pisco cocktails in particular were fantastic and the pisco they used I think it was a new one was very good indeed as a digestif. Thanks to all the team for a memorable night.More
I've held off reviewing Chakana as I don't want other people to know about it in case I can't get a table!! Have visited twice now and both occasions were amazing. The vibe is comfortably informal and the food is stunning in appearance and taste....Good choices for each course. The Pisco sour is not just recommended but I'd say 'mandatory'! Not able to say if the food is authentically Peruvian as I've never been to Peru (now I'd really like to go!) but whatever the case, the flavours are amazing and the care and attention to detail by the chef is truly awesome. The staff are great too, taking care to explain the dishes and make you feel at home. I just love it!More
