This thoroughly Portuguese restaurant is a couple of streets away from the main shopping and sightseeing streets in Stratford but is well worth seeking out. It’s housed within a multipurpose building which includes housing and drug & alcohol treatment services, so with appropriate respect they...don’t serve alcohol during those agencies opening hours (though they’re apparently applying for an evening license). While the venue negatively affects the ambiance of the restaurant somewhat, this is a small price to pay given the quality of the food. The standout dish was the clams in the best white wine sauce I’ve come across (I’m sure there was wine present), but all the dishes were excellent and highly authentic. The portions are quite generous for ‘tapas-style’ dishes and the range of options is impressive. It was our first visit to the town but definitely won’t be our last and Cork and Tile will certainly be our lunch venue again. Before you leave, be sure to take some custard tarts with you as they’re some of the best we’ve come across outside of Portugal.More

Dropped by the Cork & Tile after hearing about a new restaurant to the Stratford food scene that was also looking to make a positive impact in the local community. Food was really wholesome and authentic, and with a staff team native to Portugal this...really added to the experience and stories behind the dishes. Grabbed a cookie of Pastel De Nata’s to take away for my son as he loves those, and now we’ll have to go back for more!More

What an amazing surprise this was!!! So far away from home. Well prepared food, with the typical Portuguese flavour. Don’t miss out the Bolinhos de Bacalhau and the most famous delicacy Pastéis de Nata

Don’t be put off by the unusual exterior appearance of this fantastic Portuguese eaterie! The staff are so welcoming and enthusiastic about their authentic cuisine. We visited as a group of 6 and left happy, knowledgeable about Portuguese cuisine, and thoroughly replete. It’s good to...see community spirit alive and well in Stratford upon Avon, and we highly recommend a visit to The Cork & Tile.More

Help spread the word where this place is. Great for those who like a change from the usual offerings on the main streets of the town. Tried this only once and haven’t yet gone back to try more of their menu. Unusual surroundings. Picture a...cafe inside a commercial/public building like a leisure centre. Up a flight of stairs. Nowadays there would be a lift for planning, best double check. Perhaps book ahead too as it looks empty from the outside. Desserts imo looked and sounded better than they tasted.More

Very good food, extremely friendly staff, a place worth going back to many times. The menu is Portuguese and products seem to come straight from Portugal. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food. Staff wonderfully friendly and attentive. Made it a very special evening especially as it was my fiancées birthday too. The restaurant are working in partnership with local businesses, supporting people and offering the opportunity to train and learn hospitality. A real treasure of...a restaurant not only in the local community for its food but also for the community itself. We will certainly be coming back when we are in Stratford again.More

Had lunch with some friends here and was delicious food including excellent pasteis de nata, in a lovely, contemporary and relaxed environment with very friendly service. Great selection of traditional food including tapas. I had the iberico pork and there is also a nice selection...of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Being a social enterprise it’s nice to know you are doing good too. They are also dog friendly. Definitely be back.More
