We had wandered around Newcastle trying to decide whet to eat (too much choice!). We ended up here and had a drink and ordered food. I had the fish and chips which was delicious - particularly the chips and the crispy batter on the fish....More

Like the look of the place. Very rustic yet modern and a big central bar. Despite this not a single Blonde beer in sight. Downstairs there is a "cinema" but not sure how that works because just looked like a bar to me.

Just popped in for a pint, this town wall always puzzles me. An odd place, never once has a member of bar staff ever seemed happy to serve me. Today a gent who couldn't even be bothered to take his jacket off plopped a pint...More

This place was great on a Friday night. There were seats outside but it was still busy enough to not be dull. The drinks (wine) were cheap enough.

Came for a quiet drink, tried to pay contactless and was told that there was a £5 minimum charge for card despite no signage or indication that this was the case. Bar staff became threatening when I said that was the only form of payment...More

Amazing food, even better service. We come here all the time and it never disappoints. (They do daiquris, the proper way)

I have visited this pub twice during the last month. On the first occasion I had a reasonably priced and quite delicious Sunday lunch of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with lots of vegetables. The meat was very good, I would have appreciated another slice....More
