Two weeks ago we celebrated my son's wedding at High House Farm & Brewery. Heather and her staff were brilliant and everything was taken care of as we wanted. From the way the venue was set out and our guests cared for to the amazing food and the magical setting

We recently met up with friends for Sunday brunch and a tour - both were excellent. Food very good. Real ale - particularly Auld Hemp - delicious!

What a find! A little way off Hadrian's Wall but worth every step. Jenny and Straun are fine hosts and Straun is a fount of knowledge of the local area. We had two rooms, one of which was configured in an unusual way as you had to walk through the bathroom to reach the bedroom. Rooms were large and full... More

Visited for a cousins wedding. A lovely place with an outside and inside sitting area. The staff were friendly and empty glasses were cleared away quickly. Both cold and hot food of different variety was served. Heaters were also provided as the weather got colder in the evening. The only thing with a party of our size was only 2... More

Lovely place to sit outside but be prepared to wait ages to get served. There were plenty of staff on duty but no one seemed interested in serving us. Also they tried to charge me an extra £1 for hot water refill of a fruit tea pot that i had already paid for! Staff member very rude when I objected.... More

Received a token for this as a present and went with my father and brother. A micro-brewery which produces some great beers as we later found out. Really informative tour of the beer making, maybe a tad too long, followed by a tasting session across there range of beers. Part of the package was a Sunday lunch which was delicious.... More

What a fabulous setting for a wedding. Excellent afternoon tea (didn't see much evidence of 'tea') but the scones and cakes were great, as was the quiche and sandwiches. The bride's choice of peacock theme made it all the more colourful! The hog roast was super. Service excellent. Brewery tour added an extra element to what was a well-organised, fabulous... More

Visited here with my father to meet friends. My first time and their second. I like it that there are 2 distinct areas, one with Classic FM in background and the others with a local music station. There were 4 specials which included roast lamb, loin of pork, a chicken dish and a vegetarian option. For £7 you got main... More

We have been to High House quite a few times and have to say we're never disappointed. We go as a family of 4 with our 2 children aged 4 and 6. The Sunday lunches are beautifully cooked and there is always plenty on your plate. We especially like the vegetables as they are always cooked fresh, there are loads... More
