Thanks to Tripadvisor reviews (!) my partner and I decided to have breakfast here. At £10, the full breakfast isn't the cheapest in town but we thought it had to be good. The place looks nice, but the effort has gone into the decoration and not the talent in the kitchen. Strangely, they have opted to let all the customers... More

Call in here on a regular basis, breakfast is hearty and great value for money. Love their salads for lunch but my favourite meal is their soup and sandwich deal. Also love their slab/ slices of cake - often leave with at least one of these to take away. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful place Olive & Bean is, right in the city centre it's a great place to relax with an excellent selection of drinks, breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. The homemade cakes are amazing.

In Newcastle for weekend and went here for Sunday brunch on TA recommendation. It was excellent - exactly what I had hoped for! Great buzzing atmosphere (by 12 there was a queue for tables), lovely friendly staff but, best of all, superb food with generous portions at a reasonable price. I loved it!!

We used Olive and Bean for coffee stops, take out lunches and staff events when it opened over 6 years ago, but we have moved offices and not been here for some time. This was a quick trip back with friends for a hot drink. The cafe has retained the casual and friendly atmosphere, I particularly like the large table... More

Went here for the first time today and had afternoon tea. The food is excellent. Deliciously tasty sandwiches, fresh scones with good quality jam and clotted cream and a good selection of mini cakes and tray bakes from the shop. Very busy on a Saturday afternoon and great atmosphere inside. However the street outside is awful. Dirty, surrounded by discount... More

Had been in Olive and Bean a couple of times when it first opened and weren't impressed at all... Decided to go back there today and I don't know what they've changed, but it's absolutely amazing.... We had paninis and soup and been 100% satisfied by the food. Beverages were excellent too! Going back there soon and will certainly try... More

Pooped up to visit son who is at Newcastle Uni and went to this place initially just for a coffee, when we got there we were handed some menus and my wife and I could not resist the homemade Pumpkin, Butternut Squash and apple soup (it was Halloween weekend after all..) son had a mozzarella panini. There was a short... More

Lovely quirky wee place in Newcastle, close enough but far enough from everything. Lovely homemade soup and scones and the traybakes and deserts are simply unbelievable - the rolo and salted caramel cheesecake I loved. Have to visit here when you want a not a chain store faceless coffee experience - brilliant.
