Family lunch for 10. Lovely setting, pleasant waitress and very smart toilets. However much of the food was very disappointing and in some cases inedible. Description on menu was inaccurate, too much oil added to dishes as a garnish, vegetables smothered in thyme. The custard...More

Really good food and service in a nice atmosphere but the prices are too high. We are are not extravagant eaters/drinkers but our bill came to £45 a head which for a pub in the wilds of Suffolk is expensive.

Dinner last night. The dim lighting disguised the fact that my dauphinoise potatoes were black on the bottom. On query the chef admitted they were three days old - disgraceful! In fact the whole dish had the characteristics of a reheat with slices of rubber...More

Dear Esmm2017, I am rather baffled by your comment. You did ask about the taste of the dauphinoise. As per the dish description it contains argon, a delicious herb. It was not black underneath and you were certainly not told it was three days old!...More

Very relaxed. We are a village pub with a good restaurant. Some people dress up and others are more smart / casual. All the best
