Situated in the heart of Aldeburgh high street, local twins Alex and Oliver were delighted to take on Regatta Restaurant in July 2020. Specialising in primarily seafood dishes to reflect its coastal location, this bright, airy restaurant is perfect for any occasion. We feel Aldeburgh is a special place and are proud to be located on such a prominent place on its unique high street. Alex and Oliver Burnside have always lived and worked on the Suffolk Coast. The brothers took over Regatta Restaurant in 2020, The Golden Key, located in the heart of Snape village in 2007 and The Plough and Sail, located at the front of Snape Maltings in 2012. Both brothers are passionate about their specific areas

Had a few meals here over the years, whilst visiting the wonderful Aldeburgh and saw that it had changed hands, so let’s see what it like now. Well the obvious COVID restrictions are in place and that meant a reduction in tables, so atmosphere (which...in normal times is great) was slightly dampened, just a bit quieter. Service was impeccable, prompt, helpful and with a smile. Food was generally great and obviously depends on you likes, thoroughly enjoyed it. My seared tuna was cooked perfectly, knife went through like butter, the Asian slaw however was very acidic, think the chef needs to think (and taste) a bit more about the harmonisation, when to add and when to take away. A slaw should compliment, not beat you up! Anyway, loved it here and they are doing a damn fine job,More

There were a couple of people sat outside the restaurant with coffee, and some spare tables. There was also a sign which read ‘coffees and cake until 11am (it was around 10:30am). My girlfriend and I sat down for a few minutes and then I...went in to find someone to order. I went in and there was a lady behind the bar with a face mask around her neck. She was leaning on the bar, on her phone. She half looked up at me and I asked if we could order a couple of coffees and she said ‘I’m too busy to make you coffees.’ (No apology whatsoever). I was so shocked I just walked out, and told another couple who had just sat down what I had experienced. We all left and went elsewhere.More

Dinner for Two on a Wednesday evening. Restaurant was busy with a good atmosphere. Standard menu has plenty of choice and supplemented by a good selection of specials. Starters and mains from a mix of both menus and all of excellent quality, flavour and presentation....Would recommend a visit.More

Dined here twice in a week. Lovely fresh food , seabass amazing . Staff very friendly and helpful. Tiny criticism, on our first night there we were on a table for 2 right next to toilets , there is a screen but this could do...with being bigger and consequently hiding the toilet corridor more.More

Beautiful food and friendly service. The focus is on fish, particularly the specials’ board, but plenty of other options. Great wine list which offers a broad range of wines at reasonable prices.

Our first dinner out since lockdown restrictions have been lifted and so pleased we chose the Regatta. We were lucky to get a table as we had not booked. On arrival felt immediately at ease and staff were warm and welcoming. The menu was interesting...and varied and my wife had skate and I has Sea Bass. Both meals were absolutely delicious The service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.More

Did I see seafood on the menu?? What a find the absolute best paella we’ve ever had - and we’ve eaten it all over Europe- topped off with a beautifully pan fried sea bass perfectly crispy skin and plenty of succulent moist flesh. If only...we were not going home tomorrow! As Neil said we might have to come back if only for the paella and sea bass!! Total perfection!!More

Hi yes we allow well behaved dogs in our bar area in the restaurant as it has a stone floor not wood. We only have 4 tables in this room so we would recommend booking a table.

There was a fixed price menu but I didn't see anything gluten free. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Ive only just gone back on Trip Advisor after some time.
