We had a lovely meal. Beautifully cooked. My boeuf bourguignon was outstanding and my wife’s sole was perfectly cooked. The service was exemplary. Well done.

A smart welcoming entrance brings you into the main bar area of the restaurant. This was quite lively and buzzing on the evening we dined - this gave a really good first impression. The decor is modern and smart without being minimalist. There is also...good sound management as even with a busy bar and restaurant we didn't feel overwhelmed with noise and echo as we often do with poorly (cheaply?) designed establishments. Our booking was for five, three adults and two teenagers. One maintains a plant based diet. All found the menu to have a wide variety and so it wasn't long before we had all made our selections and ordered from the friendly waitress. Drinks came quickly - with the large bar there is a good selection of wines, beers, gins and whiskey - I managed to sample three of the four aforementioned drinks during our meal! Price-wise we would say its mid-high end. We all really enjoyed our meals as well as the vibe/ambience of the evening and look forward to visiting again when we next visit Aldeburgh.More

Best breakfast / brunch in Aldeburgh ,always perfect . Would like to eat here more often but unfortunately the restaurant is not dog friendly and when we are walking past we are usually on a dog walk .

We had stopped visiting this restaurant about two years ago because we were fed up with the poor service for dessert and bill paying, but we decided to try again, thinking that error must have been sorted. However, after a nice starter and main course...we asked for the dessert menu and waited... Our waiter seemed to have gone off service and nobody was interested in looking after us. After considerable time and several other customers were served we decided to give up. The manager reduced our bill, but I would have rather paid for a full meal and received one. Oh well, I suppose we will try again in another two years.More

Quite nice ambience. The food is nothing special. My pork belly was quite nice, especially the gravy, but my wife’s falafel clearly came out of a packet (I’m thinking Paxo here). Reasonable price though and we were able to get a table on a busy...half term Friday.More

This restaurant is a bit basic in terms of decor and layout (it is the White Lion Hotel's main restaurant and bar, open from breakfast to late) but we had a jolly good meal (lots of locally sourced seafood dishes) with excellent service. Very reasonable...prices.More

We are from London where most things open late on Sat night . Surprised when we came to Aldeborough most places to eat close at 830 pm and those that stay open won't accept walk ins. Hungry , we tried here were we were greeted...and treated well. The interior was really upmarket and pleasent but although for some reason there were alot of bluebottle flies ?? Despite this everything was superb from the bread and butter and the fish and chips everything was made from scratch even the tartar sauce . The price was good for a top eatery £12 for fish and chips . Service was genuine and friendly . So happy at the end of our meal and grateful if the great experience . I would based on this meal stay at the hotel . Excellent and thanksMore

We have never been before and came on the recommendation of a friend. From outside we have always felt that the building does not look very welcoming. Once we came inside the bar was really friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We had a...drink at the bar, it would have been nice be offered a look at the menu in the bar but we hadn't asked. We had a lovely meal, everything was great, the food, wine and service were all perfect. Our waiter explained that this was his first night, he spent time chatting with us and made us feel very welcome. We had a great evening and feel that we have discovered a new bar and restaurant that we will visit regularly.More
