My wife and I have been to the fountain on numerous occasions and have enjoyed every visit. There menu is mostly gluten free which is rare and food is cooked fresh and in my opinion the best place in town (city). I would and do recommend the fountain to all I meet but would recommend you book as it's a... More

I was one of a party of 5 that had a really pleasant evening here. The place doesnt look like much from the outside, but inside its really cosy and decorated in a tastefuly rustic style. It has a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, obviously a favourite of local people but not uncomfortable for those of us who were not.... More

The Fountain Inn is close to the cathedral in ancient St. Thomas' Street. The food is good value gastropub fare and reasonably priced. The only drawback is that the loos are upstairs which may make it difficult for disabled customers. Apart from that the staff were friendly and the service good.

We called in to this lovely Pub/Restaurant on the off chance having arrived in Wells that afternoon. It was all very acceptable with a great atmosphere and lovely food. The Staff also were charming, friendly and very efficient. We cannot fault the Fountain, do try it soon.

We booked a late lunch at the Fountain, our 3rd visit to this great pub in as many years. We have always had great food here and the real ale is very well kept. Washed down with a pint of Bath Gem, we ate ploughmans, chicken salad, kids fish and chips and a sausage and chips. The empty plates told... More

We ate at the Fountain as part of a celebration weekend for my aunt's 50th. 12 of us in total. The decor of the pub is lovely, although very small bar area so drinks before dinner were tricky. We had very nice food - lamb tagine and pork loin in particular were excellent. However a couple of low-points cast a... More

My girlfriend and I had a nice meal here. They managed to fit us in as a walk in. I would recommend booking in advance. The food was good and in a nice atmosphere. Both our meals, although tasty were not what we had ordered, I think they were running out and were mixing side dishes to make do. Would... More
