This pub felt really homely and welcoming. Ordered our food and then found a table to find it was sticky - as were they all. The toilets needed a good clean, as did the rest of the pub. The food was really disappointing too - I ordered steak and ale pie - it was burnt and inedible so I left... More

Although we have only been here twice, we did enjoy both occasions, certainly good value, very nice food, I was happy that I could have a veggie option with vegetables, nice atmosphere and service, Hope to come again in June with the family to celebrate a birthday.

My husband & I visited Wells with our dog. Wells is only 30 minutes from our home. We looked up dog friendly pubs & this was one of them. We ordered burger & chips. All was from frozen & tasted like a burger from Tesco frozen isle! Really disappointing considering this is a locals pub & you expect locally sourced... More

Went in on 23rd Dec, early ish, the bar was lively and full of drinkers, nice atmosphere. We were allowed to come in with our dog and the staff were very friendly advising us to order quickly before a large table arrived. Good range of beers and the prosecco was also good according to the wife. I had fish and... More

Only visited for drinks but this pub has a really good feel. Three separate areas and was able to watch The Quinn's game in the front bar. Drink prices are reasonable. Dog friendly.

Well seasoned food and desserts weren't overly sweet which suits us very well . Lovely attentive staff . Wanted to return the next day as a group of seven , but unfortunately couldn't as we... More

I popped in on my own at lunchtime to watch the Watford - Palace match on Boxing Day. There was a choice of local real ales - I enjoyed the Star of Bethlehem - and a nice buzz as plenty of families called in to eat. Children were welcome. The last time I came here was 30 years ago. It... More
