Always friendly staff that have time to be polite and engage with the customers and the food is delicious. My kid loves eating food from Rajah too so it makes a great family treat on a Friday night.

Ignore the decor and enjoy good food and friendly service in this unassuming Indian restaurant. Excellent range of dishes. We had some poppadoms to start, a couple of mains, three side dishes and a large bottle of Cobra for a little over £30. We will return (yet again!)

Access to the Rajah is up a very steep and narrow flight of stairs from the entrance in Queen Street. The restaurant space is cramped and the décor in a relatively poor state of disorder. I suspect many might turn around and leave at this point. But don't because the food is great. Service is fast and friendly and the... More

How hard can it be to wiz up yogurt, water and a little sugar? Too hard for these folks as its not on the menu but something similar labelled as a mango lassi is available ,out of a box I think! It took them 2 goes at getting it right. Ok, food was hot and tasted ok but the decor... More

Ordered a takeaway from here for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Friendly welcome as always and speedy service. I like the fact that they place the takeaway dishes in a big cardboard box/tray (no worries about spillages in the car) and that they give you free poppadums & salad/garnish. The food was up to its usual high standard. (The... More

This is Wells' only Indian restaurant so no competition. Decor and ambience dull. Food OK but nothing outstanding. Friendly staff but aura of 'somewhere else'. Not easy to access with strep stairs. Entrance unprepossessing with piles of empty boxes. Needs some revival!

Went here for a groups Christmas do. Restaurant is upstairs (one flight) so is hard to access for some. Staff all very friendly and not too pushy... Food was of a decent quality and good value for money. Most likely to to return at some point but not for a special occasion.

From the outside walking in it wasn't what I expected. Walking up the stairs it was like walking into someone's flat but as you walk in it was on the small side ( tables very close together). The service was nothing outstanding but ok. The food wasn't unpleasant, hot and plentiful. We did ask for one meal to be 'nut'... More
