A very pleasant lunch in nice surroundings. We visited this establishment on 1st December with friends. The staff were very helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was very good and excellent value for money. We will return.

Having read many varied reviews it was with some trepidation that I booked a meal for 2 at the Garrick's Head before the theatre. No need to worry. The kitchen opened at 5.30 and we were there on the dot, one couple already there. The waiter arrived promptly and took our drinks order leaving us with the menus. Choice of... More

My mother and I have just enjoyed a meal at this restaurant. She had 2 courses for £17.95 pre theatre menu and I choose from the bar menu. The service was at a steady pace and we were encouraged to take our time enjoying the food. I had mussels with fries, Mum had the chilli prawns followed by the ham... More

Booked a table online for lunch whilst visiting Bath for the Christmas market. Wonderful host, really friendly and welcoming. The waiting staff were lovely. The food was absolutely gorgeous. We had the fish and chios and they were by far the best i've eaten. A real value for money, with good ingredients and ideal setting for lunch or dinner. Would... More

This pub is a great place for lunch during shopping trips. Plenty of room to sit comfortably without the usual overcrowding.

Booked in for a Friday night for 8pm, they have a nice restaurant area which is separate to the bar which seemed very busy. We were swiftly shown to our table and they had a great selection of wines, we went for a delicious Malbec. The food was great, had hare for main which really melted in the mouth. The... More

Looked good from the outside, the short rib was fatty and tough, the hamburgers overcooked, actually burnt. 4 out of 5 of the family were disappointed with their food, yet it was on the high side of pubs. You'll find better food and broader beer choices elsewhere.

Great location and lovely having outside tables for drinks and meals. Bar meals rather restricted choice and expensive compared to other eateries nearby but well cooked and served. Sadly the outside area attracts smokers so it makes it unpleasant to have a meal: pity this is allowed! Also the over-aggressive and insistent beggars sitting outside hoping to receive some cash.... Enjoyed a real ale in the pub and moved into the restaurant for a delicious roast beef. Food was excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful.

My pre-theatre booking for a group of friends was made several weeks prior to the event, we'd even pre-ordered our choices from the menu. But 20 minutes after we'd arrived, no food was to be seen. We'd ordered 2 soups and the rest were cold starters so quite why it took so long is a mystery. Then there was another... More

Description
Situated next to the Theatre Royal in the centre of Bath, the Garrick's Head Pub and and Dining Room offers a delicious selection of locally inspired dishes. Using seasonal ingredients and making everything fresh on site the kitchen serves traditional pub dishes such as fresh cod in beer batter with triple cooked chips and "the best burger in Bath" to more complex creations, Venison steak with a mini cottage pie of venison or poached Guinea fowl with wild garlic both popular at the moment. The Garrick's Head is ideally situated for pre Theatre dining as it is directly next door to the theatre so you are only minutes from your seat. Often described as a country pub in the city centre the Garrick's Head has roaring fires, four real ales and over 50 whiskeys, very much a pub with a dining room there are also over 50 seats outside on the terrace, perfect for watching Baths beautiful people come and go.
