This now at least my eighth visit for Sunday Lunch, so the staff are almost capable of remebering what I am most likely to order - which is quite good of them as they must get HUNDREDS of repeat visits - it is often fully...More

Great location by the river (a lovely summer spot). Cosy interior. Friendly & efficient service. Nice starters (goats cheese, kedgeree arancini). Mushroom hotpot main was tasty. The fried Skate wing main was delicious, but I only discovered afterwards that Common Skate is "assessed as Critically...More

I tried many restaurants in Bath to book a group of 50+ people. Many that I spoke to saw me as a nuisance and it was with much relief that I came across the Bathwick Boatman. Rosy, the proprietor, is a lovely lady with a...More

The car park is quite small, but (only on a Sunday) you can park in one of the side streets just outside the gate - including where it says residents only. I have had to park outside the gate a few times (a local resident... More

Description
The Bathwick Boatman is a tranquil slice of gastronomic heaven, located just 10 minutes stroll from Bath's city centre on the picture-perfect banks of the River Avon. Run by husband and wife restaurateur team Ben and Rosy Hall, the restaurant is set in an old rowing club with beautiful river views and a cosy, rustic ambience. After training in Italy and Spain, Ben worked in Miami before returning home to Britain, and his simple, seasonal menu is full of robust flavours and represents good old-fashioned value for money. The Bathwick Boatman has a divine summer terrace, and is perched just above Bath's historic boating station, where you can hire a punt or a rowing boat for a post-meal paddle.
