Really lovely to come back to the Cross Keys for dinner. We have not been back for some years and made sure we gave this place another visit as the previous time it was good. Didn't disappoint. Food excellent and we were entertained by Irish musicians too. Good evening.

Pleasant for a drink, we didn't eat there but it is very close to the High Beeches guest house. Easy parking and very close to number three bus stop to/from city centre

They advertised that between 6 and 7 the happy hour specials are buy 1 get 1 half price, so we booked a table for 2, arrived and ordered drinks. i asked for a guest ale but halfway through the pour the barrel ran out so I went for a different choice. Ordered the mains from the special boards which turned... More

We tried this pub on a Saturday evening - there were four of us. Nice atmosphere - if a little bright. The menu looked interesting. The first hiccup came on ordering drinks - they had run out of drinks we wanted. The service was very slow, both for ordering and getting drinks and for taking our food order. The staff... More

We were staying locally so this pub was an ideal location for us. I had a delicious mushroom, spinach and hazelnut pie and my husband had the pork belly which he really enjoyed too. The staff were friendly and there seemed to be lots of locals enjoying their Saturday night with family members and dogs. My only slight grumble is... More

Had a relaxing pub lunch here with a couple of friends. The food and the service was excellent. Good menu and all very reasonably priced - I would say well above average standard of food. Staff were attentive without being a nuisance like in some places. All in all well done Cross Keys - we will definitely be back !

Went with a group for lunch. We were put in the lower dining area which was freezing and the heaters turned off. Very slow service for not much more than "snacks". Food average when it came (with no apologies or even a smile). Couldn't even manage to get an omelette right! Overall, the worst lunch in a pub I can... More
