I had been wanting to visit Clayton's kitchen for some time so I really did have high expectations and our experience lived up to them. The menu was thoughtful, adventurous but humble. The decor was stylish and modern, with homely touches which added a sense...More

Lovely restaurant, very attentive team. The atmosphere was buzzy on a Saturday night. The chef did a great job of creating a dairy free meal for me. Nice touch, so many places really can’t be bothered. All three courses were very tasty and cooked to...More

Eight of us were seated comfortably even though the space is small. The fresh fish entree was delicious. The menu was varied and met all of our expectations.

Visited for lunch with friends. Restaurant was busy with a nice atmosphere. Staff friendly but efficient. Ate from the 3 course set menu. All choices were flavoursome and we'll presented. Best meal I've had out in a long time.

Booked lunch time during busy Xmas market. Set lunch menu excellent value and would have been 5 stars if the food had been piping hot.

I have eaten at this restaurant on many occasions and the food is always good, with a changing menu to maintain freshness and interest as well as a well picked sensibly priced wine list. Food served artistically which certainly makes it look as well as...More

We had dinner there on a Sunday evening. A four person band played dinner Jazz very well. Not too loud, just enough to provide a relaxing background. Food was very good, although as is usual in high-end restaurants now the portions were a bit small...More

Description
Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, Clayton's Kitchen at The Porter, is the culinary home to The Porter's resident chef Rob Clayton. Rob has previously gained a Michelin star at Hunstrete House and another at Bath Priory. Delicious seasonal dishes using the freshest quality ingredients are the inspiration for Rob's menus. This, coupled with the restaurant's friendly, relaxed vibe and carefully chosen wine list, makes Clayton's Kitchen at The Porter a favourite whether you are a die-hard foodie, dropping by for a casual bite to eat or simply picking up some treats from the Clayton's Kitchen range. Rob began perfecting his art in 1988 at Ménage à Trois London, achieving his first Michelin star aged just 25 as head chef at Hunstrete House Hotel. He remains one of the youngest chefs ever to do so. Rob gained a second Michelin Star as executive head chef at the Bath Priory. Since then his work has continued to achieve high praise, winning Pub Company Menu of the year and Food Champion of the Year.
