Chance visit on our way into Bath. Absolutely delicious scallops, sweet with butter garlic and a beautiful crust. Chicken Kiev was sensational with butternut squash and pancetta the perfect pairing. And the service could not have been better. If I'm ever back in Bath I will return.

You know what it's like! We've all been there before! No, not the Beaufort, Silly . . the situation, I mean! A friend recommends a new place . . raves on about it . . then you go and it doesn't exactly meet your expectations? Well, that's our experience of the Beaufort! No doubt about it . . this is... We are local and booked a table before visiting the local theatre. We arrived and were the only people eating. There were two other customers just having drinks. We ordered the mushrooms on toast and the rib eye steaks with truffle oil fries. I asked for my steak rare and my husband asked for medium to well done and made... More

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime. Received warm welcome and menu recommendations. Love the fact that a jug of water with fresh limes was brought to the tables whilst we were looking at the menus. Hubby started with goats' cheese salad and I had the scallops. He loved his - so fresh and full of great ingredients and the cheese... More

I hardly recommend the Sunday Roast. My husband had pork and I ate the lamb. Unfortunately we couldn't have any desserts, plenty of food in the mains. Meat, gravy and Yorkshire pudding were impressive, the flavour of the meat was amazing. Roasties were ok and must of the vegs were fantastic. Service couldn't be better. The atmosphere is very cozy... More

I have been here for the Sunday roasts which are excellent and wondered what happened with a more general cuisine. Happy to report it is good. A wide enough range of dishes that should suit all tastes with starters, mains and puds all showing imagination and a variety of fresh locally sourced ingredients. Wines reasonably priced and lots of icy... More

This has to be the "BEST" pub/gastro pub I have recently had the pleasure to dine in. From the chilled front of house (Robbie) to the unreal suspended fluffy looking clouds on the ceiling (apparently they absorb noise echo) well they work as the atmosphere was splendid and made us all feel comfortable but excited. The food did not disappoint,... More

Having been to the Beaufort twice now, it's reassuring to know that the food is reliably good and interesting. I tried one of the three 'panko' options on the menu and delicious. Wine was great and atmosphere friendly. Unfortunately during both visits here the service has been poor. Not very attentive at all, getting drinks, paying the bill etc. It's... More

Sunday lunch for 7 family members. Attentive service, interesting menu and they were very happy to do half portions for kids and grannies. Roasts were a generous size. The atmosphere was very conducive to a most enjoyable meal. It is rare that no-one in our party has any complaints, but The Beaufort absolutely nailed it. We will be back.
