There was a good selection of options on the menu but one of the dishes was finished and I had the ham hock pate which was like cat food and the pickle substandard. However, others had the fish finger sandwiches which were delicious and the...More

Hi there, Firstly thank you for your review, I'm really sorry to hear that your ham hock wasn't up to standard but I'm glad to hear the rest of the meal was satisfying. Recently we have gone through a change of menu and we're now...More

It offered perfect solace after a game of crazy golf in a seriously heavy rain shower so that would give it 3 stars alone but the fact that it had great ales, lovely bar snacks and friendly staff whacks it up to a fiver. If...More

Hi Alfie! Well we can't help the weather but here at the Salamander we're glad that it rained, otherwise we would never have received this excellent review! I'm really glad to hear you had such a nice time with us and we'd be really grateful...More

The Salamander is one of a new breed of trendy bars that seem to be cropping up all over the place. Less a traditional English pub, more a beer-swilling version of a wine bar, it offers “spit and sawdust” comfort, not a lot in the...More

Hey Neal, Firstly I'm glad to hear you can so frequently over the weekend! We really try to maintain the 'oldschool' aspects of the classic pub and keep our beer at the tip top condition, so I'm really glad you grasped what we're about. unfortunately...More

Great little place it was a quiet Tuesday night when we popped in but still felt the warmth of the bar man's welcome! Keep up the good work.

Good pub with real beer. Bath local brew. Dining upstairs. Games like scrabble available so you can wile away an hour on a wet Sunday. Use the left hand door.

I called in for a quick drink in the Salamander and thought the atmosphere was great and the range of beers and ales impressive. Bath has many excellent pubs and this is right up there with the best

A great bar with A good selection of Bath Ales. There a ways seems to be a good crowd in this bar and I always ensure that I call in here whenever I am in town. Keep up the good work!

Hi the table we had was upstairs. I'm unsure if there was a lift. It is spread across a few levels. I hope you enjoy your visit.

Description
The Salamander is great city-centre pub. 'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a well-stocked bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs. Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.
