Lovely atmosphere, busy and the two male members of staff we saw were helpful and friendly. We had already eaten elsewhere earlier on, but the food we saw being served looked and smelled lovely. Will definitely stop for lunch next time we are in Bath.

It's been a month and some since visiting this establishment but I'm New to trip advisor and this visit was one I can't forget! After myself, two teenage children and husband had almost frozen to death going around the Christmas markets we past this busy pub on the way back to our hotel and we opted to have our dinner... If you fancy some honest pub food that's great value then eat here. It's right in the middle of the High Street, so very convenient, the staff are very friendly and it has and olde worlde feel to the place, so nothing too pretentious.

Found Sam Wellers and enticed inside by a local having a cigarette outside. Ordered a bottle of Shiraz and two steaks for myself and my friend, and it arrived quickly, well cooked and tasty. Had to fork up up front because the barmaid said no tabs were allowed around Christmas! Would probably have had an extra pint, coffee and sweet... More

Lovely atmosphere and amazing food, I had peppered sailor steak and with stilton cheese and it was really tasty, cooked perfectly rare as I asked. My friends had a brie and tomato baguette and a new york chicken sandwich. Nice service, the barman was really pleasant and he let me try two red wine, really good shiraz btw. Definitely worth... Small pub with not much seating space but a busy atmosphere, drinks seemed expensive as did the food but it is central. Beer quality OK but have had much better.

A proper old pub in the centre of Bath, with a lovely warm atmosphere. The pub is frendly, clean N tidy and serve good BIG dinners. Sam Wellers - Love it !
