Great, attentive and knowledgable staff, consistently good food with a very well served beer, they manage to make the customer comfortable and welcome, this really is a great venue for casual meeting eating and drinking.....

We had a midweek meal here for my wife's birthday and were very much looking forward to it. Upon arrival we were greeted by a somewhat gloomy male waiter which didn't improve for the rest of the evening. My wife and I continually felt as if we were troubling him when asking for another drink etc, and found his overall... More

We got a sneak peak of the 8 course taster menu last night and it was fantastic. Some amazing combinations and inspired dishes from beetroot 3 ways with goats cheese topped with hazelnuts and pork from head to toe. We had seared queen scallops with crispy chicken skin and artichoke puree and the blood orange sorbet to finish was amazing!!... More

I revisited this gem of a place last Sunday with my girlfriend. We both agree that you will not find a better Sunday roast anywhere in the South West. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Nice atmosphere and very clean establishment. Yes, it is a little bit more expensive than your average carvery but you get what you pay for.... More

We went there for a birthday meal, the guys were really friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We had a variety of starters and my main was the pork. Absolutely loved it! Prices are great for the quality we got, my friend said the pheasant was one of the best dishes she ever had. As for the portions, definitely... More

Very good food. I had the pheasant followed by the lemon variants. Service good too with good wine list and two good real ales on draft (the Bath brewery was better!). Bit high priced for a gastro pub, but I would go again.

There were thirteen of us dining and so we pre-ordered, we were given time for a drink first and whilst the service was very quick we were not rushed. The food was excellent, so good that most people had dessert too as we couldn't resist. Leanne, looked after us brilliantly! Great night!

We spent a very enjoyable weekend in Bath sightseeing and dining. The Chequers is a very friendly and welcoming restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was delicious and we managed to find a lovely bottle of wine from their Fine Wine selection. A great evening, thank you.
