Tasty food. Exceptional service.

Delicious food and brilliant service! I called late evening last night and Miah delivered the tastiest chicken tikka saag, Bombay potatoes, chicken on the bone and poppadoms with pickles - all this within 20 minutes. Also ate there NYE and another fabulous meal. Thank you for serving such amazing food and being so accommodating. Wishing you all a very Happy 2024.

Not open for dinning in But Take Away was just as good

Phoned to see if we could get a table they advised they will not open until they could guarantee the safety of their staff and loyal customers as the majority of their customers are apparently elderly and have been going there for over 30 years. Which I could respect so went for a take away. The Akbori chicken was really nice cooked with chicken tikka spinach and chickpeas I asked for mine to be madras hot as I like a little kick. Really nice. My wife opted for then tandoori butter chicken which was surprisingly really nice as I don’t usually like creamy dishes. They were greatful we ordered from them and thanked us for supporting them through this period and then told us they delivered. Great place lovely people and they appreciate your business

It Never Disappoints the Merrills

Have a take away from here most weeks and it never fails to deliver. We ordered one on Saturday to be delivered at 7.30 and it arrived bang on time . I had the Tandoori King Prawn Saag, the prawns are massive and delicious , hubby had Chicken Kharai and that was lovely too. The portions are plentiful, i took the left overs on Sunday to a 81 year old friend and she said she really enjoyed it too . I agree with other reviews if you dont use these establishments then you lose them , lets get the local pubs and restaurants open before it is too late.

Warmed up dry takeaway rubbish

Ordered a takeaway... probably the worst warmed up s*1t I have ever had. Why takeaway restaurants insist on cooking in advance then warming up is beyond me. I had a couple of starters, wasn't really hungry, but the lamb chops were inedible, dry and like leather, onion bhaji was the same. It take just a few minutes in a tandoori to cook lamb chops FFS, you can use delivery time to rest, what is wrong with you!

First time getting a takeaway from this restaurant. I had high hopes because of all the positive reviews, but it turned out not so good. The online ordering process was quick and easy, and the food was delivered well inside the agreed time. Unfortunately, the food wasn't great. The mixed kebabs were clock cold. The wrong type of naan was sent. The pasanda turned out to be a korma - these are similar, but I know the difference. The bhajis had good texture, but the flavour was inconsistent. The popadoms were nice, and the lime pickle was the best part of the meal. The mint and cucumber was... well, I don't know what it was. It wasn't raita, that's for sure. I could have phoned the restaurant to complain, but I couldn't be bothered with it. We made the best we could of the food, but it's once bitten, twice shy. We won't order from here again.

Tasteless Slop

Ordered via just eat as according to the website it was open. Order taken and confirmed. However, when I wentvto pick up my ticket was still on the reception desk. I was advised that they didn't open until later. After waiting 20 mins, I got home and was really dissapointed with both curries. They just didn't taste of anything, like wet cardboard. I tried to add some of my own spices but it was a waste of time. Won't be going back. Won't be recommending.

Amazing takeaway for the Merrills

Had a take away on Saturday night , it was ordered to be delivered and arrived on time . The onion bhajis were lovely and crispy , all the curry’s were really tasty and there was plenty to eat . Garlic and coriander naan was lovely , only thing they go a bit soggy in the bag so I put it in the oven for a few minutes. We have used this restaurant for 20 years and had take always while it had been shut, we have never been disappointed . We really can’t wait for it to open so we can sit in . Let’s support local businesses who have worked really hard to keep us happy with take always . Well done Mohul

Lovely BUT

We had a takeaway and although we didn’t get the onion we’d ordered we got extra mango so no problem. Unfortunately both curries had no flavour of curry, the lamb balti was tasteless and the chicken sag also! Such a shame we have never had such bland curries from the Mohul. I even put extra chilli flakes on - I think the chef ran out of spices and chilli tonight!!! Very disappointing.

Very friendly and helpful service when ordering. They were able to fully appreciate and accommodate for gluten free requirements and need for care against cross contamination. Special thanks to Ash for his attention to detail.

A big change

Since being sold and the new owners opening the Mohul has gone some what down hill, the food is no where near as good as it was and the service is not as friendly. Which is a shame as it was an excellent place to eat prior to this. To bad there are plenty of others to choose from .

Fantastic Indian Cuisine Par Excellance.

I visited on New Years Eve with my Wife, and this place was absolutely packed out. people were waiting outside to get in. I booked on line, but unfortunately the Restaurant were unaware of my booking, I find that odd, but they still accommodated us. I had the Onion Bhaji to start which was as good as any I have had, also I have to say that my main course which was the special mixed biryani, which comes with an omelette on top was the best tasting that I have ever had. The meat melted in your mouth. The service was great and the atmosphere was good. A group of four who were in front of us turned up with five people, that is not on as it was a struggle to fit people in. my Wife had poppadum's to start with pickle tray, and also a Lamb Bhuna with Naan. She also said she had never tasted better.

We've eaten at the Mohul for may years. The quality of the food was maintained after the change of ownership a couple of years ago, if not improved. The welcome was even better than before. We look forward to being able to visit again. next year.

Can’t wait for your restaurant to open again but as ever tonight s takeaway was really tasty, veg methi,tikka jalfrazi hot and spicy,special rice,and delicious tarka dall. Garlic nan,and all still piping hot after15 min drive home. Please let’s support this good restaurant through lock down till they can open for dining in.

AT LAST THE NEW MOHUL IS OPEN

At last a new interior,new menu,same staff,and very tasty food at reasonable prices. 3 tables at 6.30 Sunday night it still needs the word to get out that they are open again because it is nice to see the place busy again,the interior is fresh modern clean,and the staff immaculate white shirts and black waistcoats,and a smile that says thank you nice to see you again, so come on every one spread the word lots been a a long hard time for everyone,so treat yourself to a very welcome night out with fiends and let’s get it back to the old times . This is our second time and everything was perfect.

Terrific takeaway

Just had a brilliant takeaway dansak Veg curry,think I got a side dish portion but no matter Special rice and the best tanka dall I’ve ever had.and the inside the refurbishment is looking really good. Until they can open for sit down please support them and order a takeaway and I think they del local,let’s support them all we can.......Margaret and Ray.hope your open soon and fully booked for months you deserve it
