Had a fantastic family dinner in this gem of a place. Terrific staff who were professional relaxed welcoming and fun. Food very good and fairly priced we will definitely return. Try it and you will want to go back again

I've eaten at the Bladebone six times now with varying success. The three times Ive had Sunday lunch it's been very good. The three times I've had other things from the menu have been either just ok or poor. Recently I went with a few friends. I had fish pie which was tepid, tasteless and watery. The spinach with it... Very noisy front of the pub - tables close together. Group on table behind us f-ing & blinding at nauseum. I ordered the Haddock - what there was of it was nice - the portion was very small. The accompanying greens were hard and tasteles. (Certainly not worth £16.00.) Sticky Pudding for afters was average - the service was good.

Just enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch with a choice of roasts that all seemed delicious and could be enjoyed in a friendly country environment. The food was plentiful, cooked to perfection and well presented. An excellent Sunday lunch!!

A trip back from Reading on Thursday evening gave us the perfect excuse to visit the Bladebone once again. Lucky we had booked a table because at 18:45 we found the place full of diners and a wonderful smell of grilled fish coming from the kitchen as we parked! We ordered some drinks - a lovely Rioja (wine of the... More

From start to finish it was amazing. Friendly welcome, roaring fire, attentive staff and the best roast we all said we've ever had outside of home. 8 of us for a family meal, we were spoiled. We had the Cote De Boeuf which was to die for. Well done guys, keep it up and thank you for a great experience.... More
