Stumbled across the tea barge while walking on the Thames. They went out of their way to make me a sandwich that wasn't on the menu. Also had scones and Jam. All the food was freshly prepared and was very nice.

What a pleasant time we had. The selection of sandwiches was excellent and the filling generous. The scones was deletable.

Lovely sandwich and scone on the riverbank in the sunshine. We had a Brie cranberry and beetroot sandwich - delicious and then a scone jam and cream.

With the return of Spring, so too returns the Tea Barge! The barge is visible from my office window, and I have certainly been missing my weekly fix of green tea and chocolate brownie since Christmas when, as my colleagues put it, the barge "flies South for the Winter"). Whittington's hasn't changed. The same people, the same food and drink,... More

Want a taste of homemade English high tea, variety of teas, served in English teacups and teapots? Friendly, warm and welcoming staff? Near the centre of town on the river.... After tea, take a walk by the river or walk into town for shopping? A must visit👌

Took a trip on the Whittingtons Tea Barge this weekend to celebrate Grandma's birthday. We had some 'reluctant' family members who didn't think afternoon tea was for them but they all loved it. The food was fabulous and we were looked after really well. The weather was kind for March so we were able to spend sometime outside as well.... More

What I really, really, loved about this place, over and above the cheeky and attractive personalities of the owners, above the amazing food on offer and even above the quaint, step-back-in-time atmosphere of the venue and the cool sounds coming out of the hi-fi sound system was - the choice! Most afternoon tea locations will sting you for anything between... More

Fantastic evening with great food provided by Andrew and music and entertainment by Leslie and Sarah Lant - conductor of The Bulmershe School Choir. Leslie and Andrew can always be relied upon to make an evening special; The atmosphere is like being at a dinner party with some of your best friends.
