Atmosphere and food are good here but its popularity, especially on hot sunny days, is such the prices are now outweighing the value. The burgers from the BBQ in a brioche bun are still very nice though, try pulled pork or the tangy piri piri chicken. Good beer range always available here so if you don't mind paying extra for... It seems to make little difference when we go to this marvellous pub/restaurant on the banks of River Kennet at Woolhampton. It's always busy and that in itself is recommendation. We know many of the people we see will be friends or aqauaintances from life and work, but there are always new faces too. This place attracts the outdoor eating... More

Visited The Rowbarge with a friend on Thursday 25th May. We were disappointed with the service, actually being made to feel we were an inconvenience when ordering a drink (apparently by the Assistant Manager!). Our meal, whilst tasty was very small for the price. It would have been reasonable for a 'Light Bite' at a much cheaper price. Such a... More

Food was fantastic, we went on a Friday evening, the pub was heaving on the bar side but it didn't affect the restaurant just created a really good atmosphere of chatty happy people. The restaurant was also busy, and credit where it's due, the food despite running a busy kitchen was spot on... so many pubs struggle to cater at... More

Not the cheapest for Pub food but very good and we felt - worth the price. Mind you our bill was not helped by the fab selection of gins which we indulged in..... Starters - had a sharing platter with cheese & pickles / pate etc and followed by sharing platter of cote de boeuf! Very rustic - cooked exactly... More

A pleasant setting for a meal. We visited and enjoyed some generous portions of good quality food. Our meals were well cooked and presented. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We have eaten outside on a previous occasion and the setting beside the canal, with its swing bridge, is beautiful.

We had the best meal We've had for a long time here. My wife was two weeks overdue and hadn't has steak for 9 months and we order the Cote De Boeuf and it was OUT.....STANDING. Most expensive thing on the menu but was just amazing. Perfectly cooked meat on the bone, salad was delicious and chips perfectly crispy. Even... More

We had an evening meal with friends on a very rainy evening last week. We were traveling on our boat so the pub was ideally situated being next to the canal. The staff and service were very attentive and good from the booking of the table ( I was given a menu when I booked a few hours previously) to... More

My friend and myself had Sunday roast chicken, the food was lovely but nowhere near enough of it. The menu is quite expensive so we both expected more for our money. We then ordered desert, I had the Elton mess and my friend had the chocolate torte, again the portions was very small. The bar itself was very busy, unless... More
