This is an excellent cafe and bakery. It offers a great selection of freshly made bread and pastry, including sourdough bread varieties hard to beat. The kitchen prepares a selection of breakfast options, along delicious Cafe au lait, Cappuccino, etc. And of course, freshly made...More

Oxford now does very well for good cafes with five decent places on or near Little Clarendon St alone that I would have been wowed by 10 years ago. However, NBC is still my favourite. The training of the baristas make it the best coffee...More

We have been regulars with Natural Bread since we come to Oxford in 2009 when they had a stand to sell bread at the Glocester Green market and were very happy when the shop opened, since then we come there every day on our way...More

Been going for several years. Reliably best coffee I have had. Terrific pastries - indeed too big. Staff could not be more friendly. Small (more than 20/25 people and it is full, intimate, quirky and cosy. Occasional groups of students jabbering can be noisy. Slightly...More

Lovely cafe. Very friendly. Great food. Excellent coffee. I like it because it isn’t a large anonymous chain and family owned. Perfect.

This family run bakery and coffee shop is the friendliest in town. Great coffee and food, and bread/pastries baked to the French owner’s recipes. It gets busy with locals who love it, and sometimes you have to wait a little while for your coffee or...More

If, like me, you prefer an independent coffee shop with amazing coffee and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, then Natural Bread cannot be beaten. The staff are really warm and a pleasure to deal with. The coffee (Has Bean Coffee) is great and always being rotated...More

As a local, I am now embarrased to say that I have never set foot in the cafe before and what a treat I have been missing! I will certainly return - there was such a lovely atmoshphere and my late breakfast snack of sourdough...More

The coffee was burnt, the pastries dry and flavourless, the cooked breakfast uber basic (an extra side of tomatoes turned out to be a handful of raw cherry tomatoes rolling around the plate), the prices were steep, and the service bland - possibly because they...More

Both white and dark grainy bread have substance! as well as flavor. Lots of soft butter there to use, and a good bean soup of the day came with two thick toasted slices for about 5pounds and change. Husband had tasty sandwich.

Natural Bread is an independent Oxford based artisan bakery. We make all our own wonderful breads, pastries & cakes by hand, from scratch, and fresh every day in our bakery without using any additives. Our signature natural sourdough breads are made using locally milled flour, sourdough starter, water, salt and time and while other bakeries might use yeast to get their breads to rise, we use traditional natural leaven, slow fermentation techniques letting the sourdough starter do its job over 48 hours – giving the bread its wonderful texture & depth of flavour. We have a successful wholesale business supplying breads, pastries and cakes to restaurants, cafés & stockists across Oxfordshire, and a selection of our breads, cakes & pastries is available to buy each day from our bakery shops in Oxford City and Woodstock. We have never forgotten our roots in the Appleton Farmers Market, and we continue to sell our bread and pastries at several of the local Oxford weekend Farmers’ Markets
