Popped in one afternoon after a heavy night before, so both me and the wife went for the gourmet burger which is served with bacon, mushrooms, egg, chips, onion rings. It was tasty enough, however the bacon was only jus cooked, I'd much rather it crispy. It was all tasty enough but no great shakes.

Food is ok but nothing outstanding. Could be better flavours. Prices for soft drinks are not in line with everything else. Very close to the station.

Not eaten here for a while so decided on a Sunday lunch time. Now serving a smaller Sunday lunch menu rather than the big full menu, but still lots of choice. Excellent food and great helpful staff, moving chairs and tables to accommodate the wheelchair. Thank you

Not a great experience! 8 adults and three children out for my dads 89th birthday. Chose the pub as reasonable prices and good menu choices to suit all. The first meals came out before half of us had ordered, the last two came out when everyone else had finished! Some were barely warm, my dad couldn't cut his beef let... More

We decided to pop in for a lunch on Saturday (17th) December and was initially really impressed with the pub, the decor was nice, it was lovely and warm on what was a cold miserable day and the girl behind the bar was very friendly but then we made the mistake of ordering some food, Luckily I wasn't overally hungry... By chance I was back at the Bowyer Arms with a group of friends who had chosen it for a Sunday get together. Despite having been disappointed the previous time, and due to the response I had received below, I thought that must have been a one-off and so I was still looking forward to it (I do like a... Booked for a sunday lunch with family. Oh dear. Only 1 out of the 6 had a meal which didn't warrant any complaint or returning to the kitchen. Scampi & chips - COLD peas. Chicken, fries & 'mixed' salad = a dozen green leaves taken out of a bag and dumped on the plate - no mixed salad. Roast dinners... More

I had to venture further out, whilst my regular haunt was under refurbishment! Another pub in the Greene King chain, the Boyers Arms is clean and the service was good, with happy and attentive staff. Seems to offer a slightly more posh menu than a regular Meet & Eat pub at a slightly higher price.

Some decent beers, some decent staff, some decent food. The place in general is very money motivated, and the management won't necessarily sell you the best consumer deal available. Don't expect too much.

Hello SeasonedLuncher Thanks for taking the time to submit a review. I'm sorry you feel there is a lack of communication to our customers about the best deals available; with that in mind, I've added photos of our menu to our TripAdvisor profile (our menu contains details of all current food offers available). If you were referring to anything else,... More

This is a really nice traditional pub. The dining area is nicely furnished and there is a lovely garden where you can eat or your children can play. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The desserts are delicious, I had the millionaires chocolate brownie and it was so good! The staff are very friendly and our waitress Louise... More
