Reviewed yesterday NEW

The spread of “Travellers’ Ratings” between “Excellent” and “Terrible” probably says it all; given the amenities of the site (rural, riverside, garden, parking), its ranking of #275 of 470 Restaurants in Oxford is a shocking indictment; it should be in the top ten … … I have visited The Victoria Arms four times this year and, each time, it has... You cannot fault this pub, the staff and management are friendly and helpful, food excellent and a gluten free menu which made my mum very happy... and the river side garden is superb on a sunny day, and well kept ales which made my husband happy!!! All round great pub!

Beware - it is much worse than it looks like! The area is beautiful, but please, bring your own food to enjoy it! The service has taken 1.5 hours for the starter, more than 2 hours for the main, and almost 3 hours for the dessert! Waiters and waitresses would bring food outside and shout your name spitting on your... More

We came across this pub by chance. Fanatic setting with views over river. Shame about the overpriced food! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Had lunch here with several friends visiting from London and they loved this place. We came on a busy afternoon and food has taken a long time to arrive but we were informed about this when we ordered. The food was of good standard but what gravitate us to this place is the outside space, sitting by the river.

Called in for a bite on a sunny spring day. Unfortunately we were told it would be a 1hr wait for food. We opted to have a quick drink instead. This place has a stunning location by the river and looks perfect. It's not their fault half of Oxford was there to enjoy the first of the spring sunshine. I... More

Visited for lunch on a Friday. Plenty of tables. Friendly staff. Drank Bishops Tipple - best pint of real ale in Oxford. We went for the 2 course menu for £10. Wife had salmon then ham egg n chips (gluten free). I had tomato soup (delicious) and fish n chips. Great value. Same high standard as 5 weeks ago -... More

A lovely day so decided to have a pub lunch at Victoria Arms pub at an old haunt of ours years ago. What a mistake we made! We ordered one cheese and one ham sandwich. At £6.95 each we expected at least some nice bread, maybe decent cheese, how wrong could we be. Two thin slices of white bread with... More
