Due to moving house and feeling worn out and hungry, my cousin and I decided to go out for breakfast. As I am new to the area my cousin suggested this place. Slightly confusing arrangements for breakfast for non residents, but we eventually placed our...More

It has been a few years since visiting so pleased we have seen the refurb. We both had beef pie and baked alaska. To be fair I thought the beef filling was too dry but absolutely loved the mash which is so delicious. The staff...More

Everything we ordered came out under cooked or over cooked, the twice cooked cheese souffle was inedible. A lovely waitress dealt with us as best she could, but even she was frustrated by the lack care from the kitchen and I think there needed to...More

We just had a fabulous meal at the B&RS! The beef medallions with prawns was cooked to perfection. The potato rosti was so delicious. (I broke my low carb diet to eat that triangle of deliciousness!) We finished off with the Baked Alaska for 2...More

Very good service from happy staff, nothing was too much trouble. Delicious food and plenty of it. We took a mixed party of all ages and we couldn’t have asked for a more pleasurable lunch.

This pub just around the corner from me and prior to Peach pubs the food was always amazing. Went for a late lunch with friends who were visiting from Surrey and all ordered the monkfish scampi; 5 over cooked pieces of fish, lack lustre frozen...More

The interior bar area was very warm and cozy; the wooden beams and rough walls have the place an ancient charm. The rib eye steak, while a little expensive, was melt-in-the-mouth delicious and worth every penny. The salt and pepper squid was fair (a little...More

Questions & Answers
Please can you review how you present Sunday lunch? From the way you present your food and the passion you clearly show it was strange to see cold, brittle and burnt Yorkshire puddings on 5 of the 6 plates... looking at other tables they too were similarly served. It may be better not to serve them if you find you have to pre-cook and reheat- I know you have to mass produce a lot for Sunday roasts but please do a quality review to see how you can serve them freshly baked? The roast beef was so evenly sliced it may be factory pre-cooked? The connective tissue was un-rendered in the slices I had which was unpleasant - again possibly because of the sheer number you have to get through I appreciate that you have to get through a lot of work but might be worth a review to check? Lastly the gravy served was over thickened and gloopy- possibly a batch that had been rushed late in the serving but it would be good to serve in gravy boats rather than cover the meat/ boiled veg on every plate, so people have the choice to serve themselves with what they want? I appreciate that Sunday roasts are hard work but with such a big turnover it would be worth checking things that might be slipping through that you may not be aware of, through no fault of your front of house staff who were friendly and helpful and lovely.
