It is what it is...a nice pub. My girlfriend and I often go here, as it's not as busy and hectic as other pubs along the Cowley Road. Would say the music is slightly too loud, but that's just me!

Went here to eat and drink and do the quiz. The menu is unusual so a good choice for everybody in a group. I had the chicken burger which was very tasty. The quiz is good if rather too late unless you live nearby. I was disconcerted to discover I'd been charged £9 for a glass of red wine--it was... More

I came here on a Friday night, and it got very busy! Luckily we had arrived earlier on and managed to secure a table. I ordered a chicken and ham hock pie which was perfect comfort food. I think they also redecorated recently? It looks great!

I stopped here for a quick drink last week. I last visited this pub over thirty years ago when it was a proper pub. The set up of the place is the same as it was back then but posher furniture. The bar man was friendly and the price of a pint wasn't bad. The food looked nice will go... More

I always loved Sunday lunch at the Cape, warm friendly staff with great food. Neither were available yesterday. The bar staff were rude, the food was shocking. I had asked for my beef well done, it came back very red. I mentioned that I had asked for it well done and was told that's it didn't come well done. I... More

The Cape was recomended the place by a friend and it didn't diapoint. The place has had a really nice refurb both inside and out- we sat outside in the sunshine then moved into these great little heated sheds when it got a bit chilly in the eveing. Good selection of real ales, ipa's etc which is nice to see... More

Really tasty roast beef Sunday lunch, and it wasn't busy at all (quite a sunny day so perhaps that's why!), highly recommended.

Been coming here since being a student and I've never been disappointed. It's under new management and I can't find a fault. Love the choice of craft largers. Had to wait for a few friends to turn up but there are board games to keep you busy. Food is top and staff are always welcoming. Highly recommend!
