Called for a drink on a wet day and on entering the pub bar found it to be a very cosy pub and old fashioned. It is not a typical hotel whichis a change more of a pub atmosphere.

Stopped here for lunch while touring the area and wished we hadn't bothered. Ordered tea and the cold roast beef sandwich. The tea came but after waiting for half an hour the sandwich still didn’t appear! So sadly I'm unable to rate the food as we left hungry and disappointed.

Not a pleasant stay! Very noisy room situated on the roadside. Not a good breakfast. None speaking English staff.

Restaurant was clearly a local hub, but it was noted that they were almost all drinks only, or drinks and snacks. Menu was average - not particularly extensive but standard pub fare. I had the half chicken with mash. The chicken was tasty but the carrots tasted like they were on the turn and, as is pretty standard, the amount... More

We booked a superior room, with four poster bed for three nights, we checked out after one night. There was nothing superior about the room, the four-poster bed was kept together with silver screws which were evidently not screwed in properly as they were sticking out in several angles. . The TV was positioned in such a way as to... More

The food is spectacular here, and so competitively priced. The staff are so attentive. The price of the alcohol is good too! Highly recommended.

2 large main courses for £25 and a good choice of desserts, if you want to pay extra for one of those. A free bottle of good house wine thrown in, too! The food was superbly cooked and delicious. The service was excellent.

Returned to this lovely old hotel for a second time and it didn't disappoint. Whilst we preferred the bed in the previous room 23 the bed in room 30 too springy for my liking (my husband had no complaints). This time son and wife joined us for an evening in the bar. So cosy and not a bit like a... More

A lovely old coaching inn right in the middle of Chipping Norton. Lovely oldie worldy touches. But too cold, though after several complaints they did have the heating on during our last evening. And breakfast only till 9.00 - far too early! Swimming pool fabulous but very cold!
