My friend and I visited this lovely pub/restaurant early on a Saturday evening. The pub is spacious and very clean. There is a large bar area with a good variety of drinks on offer. We had previously booked a table and a very polite lady...More

Fab country pub with imaginative menu. I had prawns in limoncello sauce for a starter. My partner had aubergine in a cheese sauce. Both lovely but the main course was the real star. Beef stroganoff for me and my wife had locally shot pheasant with...More

We went for our Christmas lunch yesterday. Didn't know if it would be one mass sitting with perhaps average food prepared in bulk? which could of course still have been very nice but perhaps would not have been too great. But we were VERY happy...More

We had not planned on going out for lunch but as SWMBO came back from an appointment she suggested that we go out for lunch. I looked on the net for local alternatives and we settled on the Snooty Fox. We have been here previously...More

We were in the area and found The Snooty Fox by lucky chance. There was a roaring log fire to greet us on a very chilly day. The standard bar menu was fine but a bit run of the mill until we saw the specials...More

Had a fabulous meal hear a couple of years ago. Wanted a Sunday lunch recently so decided to ‘treat ourselves’. Mistake, it must have changed hands, food was very ordinary. Roast beef had no taste, and was sliced paper thin. Yorky puds were large but...More

Have driven by the sign to the Snooty Fox so many times and finally decided to go in. All looked good on paper but, sadly, it did not back it up. Despite clearly aiming at something like fine dining, the food fell well short of...More

Description
The Snooty Fox is a traditional village pub and restaurant serving fresh, homemade food as well as fine wines and ales. It is situated in Lowick,Northamptonshire. The menu is anything but traditional pub grub. Whilst the cuisine is British through and through, the flair and imagination poured in to each dish puts the food on another level. Diners will be delighted with dishes such as pan seared fillet of sea bass on a bed of wilted spinach and served with a shellfish bisque and tempura coated samphire grass; wild mushroom, red onion and dolce latte cheese tart served with courgette ribbons and sun blushed tomatoes and roasted duck breast served with spring greens, raspberry sauce and a balsamic reduction as well as a delicious selection of steaks. The Snooty Fox is highly recommended if you are looking for hearty yet refined British cooking with idyllic views of the countryside.
