Been coming to the Little Shambles Tea Room since I was a child. We came here two weeks ago and we were surprised to learn that new owners have taken over. We knew the last owners very well so this was disheartening. Regardless, we gave...More

Was here a few days ago, the location is amazing, overlooking Shambles market. However, the staff, two young girls were so timid, almost as though they were frightened of the customers. Made me feel quite uncomfortable as a result. Had scrambled eggs on toast which...More
Waiting to get a table was a bit precarious as we had to wait on a upward bound staircase, quite dangerous really. Luckily the wait time wasn't too long, maybe fifteen minutes. It was very cramped for elbow room for sure. Good service, tasty food,...More

Visited with family and enjoyed the cosy setting. I am informed that the scones are comparable to somewhere like Betty's tearooms albeit for somewhat less of an outlay. Not bad coffee either. All in all a nice interlude to break up a day in York.
We like to visit quaint little tea shops, and this is certainly that! The owner had only just taken over, but he was very friendly and the food we had was delicious. A lovely little tea room, well worth a visit.
