We were disappointed with the place. All the staff were more interested in chatting to each other than anything else. Including staff, we felt, were not there for a work shift, but just to socialise with their colleagues.

I made an account just to review this place! Had an amazing time at Jimmy’s this weekend. We did the bottomless brunch at £35 per person, one of the more expensive bottomless options in York but definitely worth the money. Rhiannon organised our booking perfectly...and made sure our pre-order was honoured just as we wanted. We met her on the day and she explained they had added even more drinks to the bottomless drinks menu, Two in the Pink (yep!) was our favourite. Young waitor didn’t catch his name made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Scarlett chatted with us for a bit too, she was very nice. The staff are so friendly and we love that they don’t have a uniform, it’s such a modern/cool place. The food was so good! I had fried chicken and waffles but the portion was massive, sadly I couldn’t finish it. Everyone enjoyed their time and we will definitely coming back on our next visit to York. The only thing I would say was the place is advertised as ‘good music, good times, good beer’, all true but the music was too quite. We did ask the staff about this and they explained the situation although it definitely would be worth addressing the problem, I overheard another couple asking about the volume of the music too.More

We’d been interested to try Jimmy’s since it opened and the menu looked promising, but we won’t be coming back in a rush. The food was decent enough - we had the cheeseburger and brisket burgers which were good, the fried pickle was great, but...the cheesesteak was just OK. The service however wasn’t good. Our waitress threw our drink on the floor next to the table, but was then very slow to return and the room then stank of cleaning solution which somewhat spoiled the taste. My wife had asked for no onions on the cheesesteak but it arrived with them on. When we queried this, the waiter was very begrudging to do anything about it, and after he eventually did the food took so long to come back that the rest of us had already finished our meals. This continued and it took a long time to get the table cleared and the bill paid as we had been put in a room on our own upstairs. The bill came to £52 for 3 people including drinks, which felt overpriced for the quality and service overall.More

Hi Adam, I'm glad you (mostly) enjoyed your food, although I am sorry to hear you did not receive our top tier Jimmy's service. Working in the hospitality industry is a very fun but also very physically challenging and tiring job. Often we find ourselves...More

Absolutely fantastic time at Jimmy’s York. Bottomless brunch for a group of friends was great, drink variety and food options were brilliant. Rhiannon was fantastic in booking and organising our booking and all servers on the day were great and super speedy with drinks and...food. Loved it!More

Went for bottomless brunch, the two servers Anna and Lauren couldn’t of been any better. We didn’t have a drink for maybe 65 seconds at a time! Absolute unreal service! Thank you guys! Will come back again!

The team here are definitely the standout quality from a visit to Jimmy's; they are all excellent and well-bar trained. Of the bar, I found the beers on offer here to be of superb quality and highly recommend the Irish Cream!

We popped in to book a table for the same day and were greeted by the loviest lady called Anna who was super friendly and helpful. We told her we were there for the weekend and wanted to explore the alternative scene in York. Anna...recommended the most brilliant pubs and bars for us to visit before our meal later that evening. When we arrived for our booking we felt right at home. Greeted with big smiles and friendly chat. The upstairs room was atmospheric and comfortable. Anna recommended dishes to us which we couldn’t wait to try including meatwood mac and cheese, warpigs and brisket case. Andrew the sever was efficient, attentive and a good laugh and he made sure we had everything we needed. The food WAS TO DIE FOR! Every mouthful was delicious and we got so much food for the money. This was by far the best meal we have had for a long time. The whole experience was brilliant and we can not wait to return in the future, thank you so much to Anna for helping to make our weekend extra special.More

We eat out in York quite often and my husband is a big meat eater. After seeing a lot of friends checking in to Jimmy’s (and finding the Christmas menu on the website) we thought we would give it a try. The decor and general...surroundings were good, the beer was fine too, the food however was a bit of a disappointment. The Mac n cheese tasted like it was fresh out of a tin, the Christmas menu wasn’t available so we selected the burgers (the only meat eater option). I had the buttermilk chicken and my husband had the cheeseburger. Both were just ok, the brioche buns were stone cold, everything lacked seasoning. The sauces were nice but not amazing. As a couple we love Pavement Vaults and go there often, we thought this sounded like a decent alternative. After our meal in Jimmy’s I’m sad to say we will stick to what we know in future.More

Jimmy's is a regular stop for me and my friends whenever we visit York. It has a great vibe and the food and drink are superb. We didn't eat this time round (had burgers last time, which were excellent), but had a few drinks and...enjoyed the relaxed surroundings. A really great spot.More
