I was taken here for an early birthday meal on a mid November Monday lunchtime. I chose Black Sheep bitter to accompany my meal, which after viewing the menu was to be the Yorkshire Wagyu burger (£14.00). For this hiked price it was described as being home grown beef from Field House Farm, Driffield topped with Monterey Jack cheese with... More

The soup was gorgeous - Spicy Pumpkin - I could eat it again now. The sandwich was two huge portions of brown crusty bread - mine turkey served with cranberry sauce and his Egg Mayo. The... More

Omg, what a fantastic place, the atmosphere, food and service, as a party of 9 we were seated in a great area, roaring fire on a cold windy, wet night is just what you need. The food was incredible would definitely recommend the Sunday roast, the Pork was beautiful with fantastic crackling. Will most definitely be coming back here when... More

Spent a lovely two night break here with my husband. Such a welcoming place , friendly staff and lovely cosy bar. The stable rooms were so comfortable , with underfloor heating we thought wasn't working but we didn't wait long enough because then we were too hot ! The young man we mentioned it to offered us an upgraded room... More

We were visiting Whitby for the goth weekend and sitting in stables Crossbutts we bumped into friends who were also visiting for the weekend,we decided with it being a really cold windy night we would sit in the comfort of the restaurant beside the roaring fire ,then a few drinks later we asked did they have a table, the manager was... The restaurant was able to accommodate at short notice. On arrival we were made to feel welcome and that nothing was to much trouble for the staff. The food served was of exceptional quality, with the bakewell tart being to die for. The manager certainly new his stuff and when serving the brandy, the glass was warmed with hot water.... More

We originally dropped in for a snack and were served tea and coffee and scones with cream and jam .All was acceptable except that the scones had been warmed in a microwave leaving the base a little hard and the interior a little soggy. We forgave that and returned a few days later for dinner The meals were well presented... More
