My boyfriend and I really like it here. the food is tasty and fresher tasting than what most are used to as Indian food. The restaurant is tiny (so I don't know what the person below who tried a table of 22 was thinking!), but the service is great and it is obviously byob with no corkege. Great value (although... Tiny eatery tucked away in the back streets of Borough. We had authentic, well-prepared Thalis agreeably served. A big plus is that they don't sell wine/beer, nor do they charge corkage - so we were able to get a couple of pints of Harvey's Best from the neighbouring Royal Oak pub. Super food, great ale - what more do you... More

Excellent service and tasty food. A small but cosy restaurant. Our waiter recommended Thali, which we were informed indian people eat at home. It was delicious. We would definitely go back here.

Enjoyed all the food. I don't know much about indian food but my friend picked the dishes and they were all extremely tasty without being too spicy. I really enjoyed all the flavors a lot! If you are in the area and want to have indian food you won't be disappointed. The owner explained to us that he was just... More

I & 11 friends booked a table, when we arrived only 9 of us could be seated as three seats were allocated in the middle of the walk way. They had to stand for at least 20 minutes before room was made. The portions were the smallest I have ever seen, to the extent that one end of the table... More

Me and my Business colleagues visited this restaurant around Christmas. It was memorable for all the wrong reasons. There is a hygiene certificate displayed on the wall. This must have been printed by themselves as it is so dirty the cockroaches walk around on stilts and the Mice all wear overalls. The food was very average at best, the staff... More

Had the tastiest meal for friends' birthday! The Goan chicken is just amazing - as is the dhal! Thanks for making the evening special. Including the birthday tune and flare!

Simply Indian’s new menu – launched in January – is a triumph. I have been going here for many years, and in its variety and authenticity of South Asian dishes it is excellent. The bring your own drinks option is a bonus (although well worth trying the freshly made lassi). Thank-you everyone at Simply Indian.

Thank John M

An intimate South Indian restaurant very close to Borough market in #London, where you can BYO wine and beer and not pay any corkage fee. Freshly sourced produce delivered daily. A delivery service s also available.Recently rated as top 3 Indian Restaurant in Lambeth by ThreeBestRated UK. Very busy little retaurant so always advisable to book in advance. Party menu also available for celebration bookings.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
