I love Turkish food - why wouldn't I, I'm half Turkish. But slightly disappointed by the minimal portion sizes (especially for a £4 salad!). Main service was provided by one very disinterested waiter, while coffee was brought by a very bubbly and smiley waitress. Nice ambience, but food of equal stature and taste can be bought for half the price... More

I love Turkish food, but this is just a commercial restaurants chain and nothing is authentic about this place...Portions are very small and prices quite high...Plus,the atmosphere is fake..If you wanna try proper authentic Turkish meals, you must go to one of the many real Turkish restaurants in Stoke Newington High street..Avoid this fake chain!

We got to the restaurant about 6.50 and left at 9pm having had two courses! The service was disappointingly slow and we had to give up on our intended after dinner drinks there. The food was ok, but they had added chillies to the Moussaka which I wasn't expecting, nor did the menu advise that they were included. One couple... More

As a former regular visitor of Turkey I can say that this place is as authentic as it gets. Their menu is extensive, service is good and even though it is not exactly cheap, you will find that the quality of their food makes it worth coming back again.

Went here in consecutive nights last week. My wife hadn't been before but liked it so much we came back the next night. We didn't plan on eating too much but ended up ordering mains and maze to arrive at same time. Dishes of note were the usually humdrum hummus and taramasalata which were excellent here, thick rich and creamy.... More

Wasn't planning to have Turkish food - and literally stumbled on this place. The menu was extensive - and big knowing what the food would be like we started with a meze of starters - these were soon consumed - so our waiter then brought Us a selection of mains - lamb, chicken skewers and casseroles, meatballs - all absolutely... Meeting with my sisters and niece we had an enjoyable lunch. We were not rushed, and service was good. Menu is extensive with good hummus and home made flat bread. Lots of lamb dishes and suitable for vegetarians. Surroundings were clean and pleasant, toilets were amazing!! Pricing was average for London, £6 for a starter, £10 for a main but... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
