This was the second time I've visited Brundisa and the food is just great! Lots of variety, meat, fish and vegetarian options and all cooked authentically and presented beautifully. I went with friends, this time, on a Tuesday lunchtime and it was packed, probably as it's right by Borough market. It did take a while to get a table but... More

Have visited previously and enjoyed experience; however, this evening was not the case. Was advised 1.5hr per sitting but was given the bill after 45 minutes. Throughout, felt rushed as if they didn't want our business. Order mains for myself but waiter left without asking husband for choice!!! What type of service is that? Have read other reviews of recent... More

Was just in time to catch their breakfast, ordered the breakfast which had fries, ham and fried eggs. Had the side of cheese as well. The food was simple and delicious, while the coffee was great too. Relaxing place to just hang out and take some time for oneself.

This place was great especially if you don't have time to hop on a plane to head to Spain. While the prices aren't as cheap as if you were actually in Spain ( I was in Spain the year earlier), the food was quality and authentic (Pretty most everyone who worked there was from Spain). It was a great opportunity... More

Came here with a group of friends, great atmosphere but food is pricey and nothing fabulous. Few things were really yummy - goats cheese with orange, chorizo, the prawns, and the bravas. They ran out of padron peppers which was disappointing. Came to £35/head with wine.

Waited about 30mins for a table for 3 at about 6.30pm on a very busy Tues eve. Think this place is always busy when I see it. Great if you like a lively atmosphere but wouldn't go here if you're hard of hearing! Once sat down the service was very quick, friendly and efficient. Nice that they staggered the food... More

I arrived to the restaurant just before 12 pm. I was ready to order very quick but waiter told me I have to wait precisely until 12 as they don't serve lunch menu yet (was 11.56 am). Finally after 12 I placed my order. Food arrived pretty quick. I had 2 plates. First huevos rotos - good presentation but dish... More

Waited an hour to sit on a Friday, had not finished meal and was brought the bill and asked to leave after just over an hour of being seated. Rude management. Will not return

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
