I really enjoy this place. It is close to my office, right in the middle of Borough Market. Mostly made up of seating at the bar it is a relaxed atmosphere with really good service. The food is what you would expect, old favourites, great oysters and some nice fish. Good wines by the glass, carafe or bottle. All at... More

Brilliant fishy grub (including cod liver pate to die for). Great buzzy, atmosphere, if crowded, and seated on stools (don't take granny, don't take little kids). Excellent, knowledgeable, attentive service. Great wines. Great fun. Not cheap. A fab market eatery.

Wright Brothers, Borough Market is always good to visit. It is busy and buzzing. It is reassuringly located within Borough Food Market. Sitting outside, even during winter, is a good opportunity for people-watching. The menus change regularly, However, long-time favourites are always available. This place is first and foremost a fish restaurant, so do not come looking for steaks. Fish... More

We spent a happy few hours from about 2pm one afternoon exploring their oysters and other excellent dishes. The food quality is superb. Their wine choices are spot on and the staff are really passionate and informed about what they are serving. We found it extremely enjoyable and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Huge thanks in particular to Pascale... More

Wright Brothers at Borough Market cashing-in on its name & location without providing value for money. Average seafood fare hugely overpriced and service charge on top making fool of its patrons. Staff appeared knowledgeable about the food and loyal to the establishment nevertheless wouldn't recommend or a repeat visit for its price structure and value !

It is a crowded place, there is a focus on sea food like oysters and fish. We had cod with mashed potatoes, which was good. We also had the moules and they were not that tasty. Boiled in water only.

We had dinner in this restaurant on a Sunday evening. The food was very salty and not particularly tasty. I ordered fish for main course, it was okay but for the price, it was not worth. I don't think I will go back to this restaurant. The service was okay but the waitress forgot to bring bread after we repeated... More

Very nice restaurant. Nice mix between a relaxed ambiance and great food. Lots of things on the menu + on the black board. My fish was simply delicious. Nice wine selection. Oysters were fantastic.

Lovely service, helpfully guiding through seafood standards, plus a range of daily specials - half pints of prawns, many types of oysters, crab, and several fish of the day; good range of wines, incl by the glass, or beer/Guinness for traditionalists. Good puddings too for a sweet twist

If you want to loose a couple of hours with indulgent seafood and superb drinks I highly recommend Wright Bros. The "small" Fruits de Mer is a meal for two. Excellent stout and what a range of European oysters.

Description
Our award-winning Oyster & Porter House is situated at the heart of London's bustling Borough food market next to London Bridge. Our small but perfectly formed dining room is made up of a long oyster bar and high tables. It is relaxed, informal and full of life. The open kitchen, counter seating and blackboard menus all add to its magic. Naturally, our speciality is oysters and throughout the year we offer a wide range, sourced from the best producers around the British Isles and France including our very own oyster farm in Cornwall. Grab an outdoor table, sit back, enjoy a plate of oysters and a glass of wine and soak up the atmosphere of the thriving market - we've been told it's one of the hottest spots in London. Head chef Rob Malyon has a passion and flair for great ingredients cooked simply. We sell only fish and shellfish from sustainable stocks and source as much as possible from small Cornish day boats, embracing our 'sea to plate' philosophy.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
