I must admit I fell I love with the lovely chef through seeing her on the Netflix show. I decided if someone is this passionate about their food it must be worth a try. It was a lovely experience and I managed to catch glimpse...of the lovely Asma but I was too shy to say anything. I was there with my brothers and we all had a starter and a main. Overall the value for the food was great. I found the food tasty and filling. It is a little spicy but bearable. If you like Indian food that is not westernised and comes from someone family traditions you will enjoy the food. I found all the staff I came across helpful and attentive to our needs. I throughly enjoyed our visit and would go back again.More

After walking around London shopping I went for lunch here (you better book). I had the lamb Gosht and Bengali potatoes, to drink I had a mango lassi. Lovely use of spices nice and chilli hot and best of all the pieces of lamb were...quite big and very tender after a log slow cook. I found the meal quite sufficient. I will be back again.More

Agressive manager who wouldn’t leave us alone when we told him we didn’t want to pay service charge and explained why. He just wouldn’t take no for an answer. I won’t be returning soon. Avoid this place unless you have thick skin and can take...on an agressive manager with a ponytail. Sounded European.More

I was so excited to come for a special dinner - and honestly got very disappointed by the entire experience. We were offered 2 tables - both uninviting : either in the middle of the way or stuck behind a pillar The room is big,...no music, it feels like a canteen - not a cosy atmosphere at all. The food was good - nothing amazing. It is NOT worth the 55£/pers for the royal thali. Overall, we were in and out within the hour, at 150£ the evening you expect a bit more. I love Indian food, and there a number of nicer AND cheaper options in London - I won't come back and would not recommend to friends. This certainly does not reflect the lovely atmosphere from the Netflix show.More

I have been to the restaurant twice, once at the old venue and yesterday to the new. The new venue is stunning. The decor is beautiful. You feel as though you are in one of the Michelin star Indian restaurants in London from the decor....Staff were brilliant. Really good social distancing and other covid measures in place. The food was quite average. The menu was fairly limited especially on the vegetarian options. What I ordered as my main was not tasty. The dessert portion was shocking small. In a city like London, where one is spoilt for choice with regards to Indian restaurants, this would not be my preferred restaurant in terms of food.More

Visited Darjeeling Express after reading good reviews about it. While the experience was ok, I didn't see what all the fuss is about. The food and the flavours were good, the service was patchy with long delays (20-30min) until being served food after getting our...drinks. On top of that the starters and the mains were served at the same time (we had the Royal Thali) which felt a bit too rushed. The atmosphere wasn't great but the staff was smiley and attentive. Not value for the money we paid.More

The best ‘Royal’ Thali we’ve eaten and such depth of flavour throughout the menu. It’s like a combination of a tasting menu and tapas, Indian style. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Some Thali dished are very spicy, which we loved, but beware if you don’t...like your food to hot!More

The food, service and atmosphere were exceptional however the best thing is you get to meet Asma. And she gives out cooking tips! Fabulous. The basmati rice deserves a Michelin star. Everything is freshly cooked from scratch. The prawn curry was the best ever. Really...want to go back for the Sunday lunch biryani.More
