My friend and I had popped in here for a light bite weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I decided to come again a couple of weeks later to bring my mum and her friends. Out of interest I checked trip advisor to check on recent reviews and was nearly put off by some very mixed reviews. We took a... More

Celebrating a family birthday. Atmosphere was cosy although dimmed lighting and colour of menus made them almost impossible to read. Staff were helpful. Unfortunately one of our meals had to be sent back (the beef ribs) as it was so fatty. The other portion of beef ribs was fine. Desserts and wine were good.

came here and ordered the 2 platters for sharing with my friend. Great food, great wine, I'll definitely be back. Right in the heart of Islington. Definitely book as it's only small and busy.

Highly would not recommend this place as the staff seemed most unhelpful. I did complain to the manager who apologies which I appreciate however I've no interest in returning. Heads up if you are going to call ahead and reserve a table.

I really wanted to like this place! It is on Camden Passage in Angel, which is an adorable pedestrian thoroughfare filled with boutiques. Easy to find, just near Breakfast Club and off the Islington Green. We visited for dinner and had looked at the menu in advance, thought it sounded so great and our tummies were rumbling when we sat... More

We had the small plates which were amazing, the deer kebab and sausages were particularly good. The staff were friendly and very attentive and the restaurant is very inviting, will definitely be back!

I've lived in the area for a few years, so this place has been a long term favourite brunch place of mine. A few months I went with my boyfriend and was disappointed - the food was lower quality in produce and preparation. As I've liked The Elk for so long I decided to go back a couple of weeks... More

We visited on 13 November for breakfast. Had been wanting to go for a while but we were very disappointed. The staff were rude and the service was extremely slow. We walked in, asked for a table for two without a reservation and were pretty much laughed at. Offered their low coffee table, which we took. A couple walked in... More

We visited the Elk before and had a great brunch so I thought I'd take my family who was visiting from abroad... We were turned away as we had a child with us. That was embarrassing trying to explain that, unfortunately unlike Paris where EVERYONE is welcome ( even dogs), certain places in London have a no children policy. Considering... More
