It was one of my favorite places to visit when i come in London, i've made even some excellent reviews for it. This time i had the worst experience ever, the ramen seafood that i ordered was not good at all. It has a strange smell and when i returned it after not eating at all the waiter said to... More

Overall it was a good meal. I would say a bit above average for this resto. Salmon sashimi was very good and very fresh with reasonable price. Inside out roll could be better if they put more stuffs in the rolls. Ikura was quite salty but good. Unagi donburi is average.

Portions were decent, prices were a reasonable, service was average. There was also a weird man in the toilet washing his hair...Nothing amazing or memorable but it's a place I'd only try once.

I came here for a mid-week dinner and was met with an atmospheric restaurant, delicious food, polite staff and very good value for money. What more could you possible ask for? I had the pad Thai and Chinese greens and they were awesome!

Spending a middling amount of time in London and the Russell Square area, the Hare and Tortoise has become one of those favoured haunts when I fancy something reasonably priced and will arrive in good time. The service is always pretty good, I’ve very rarely experienced a problem here (any I have has come from the company I’m with) and... More

If you need a new favourite place to eat and you enjoy the cuisine, this will be a must visit. You only need to try the place once and you too will be hooked as I am. All the starters are uber fresh, honey prawns, sashimi etc. Curry Laksa comes highly recommended as a main. Most mains are under a... More

Ive been here before quite a few times, and love how the food comes out fast (5-10 mins after taking our order) -service is quick. And yes it is busy but you do not wait more than 5/10minutes for a table. Food is cheap, portion is large. I love the curry laksa, any katsu curry (typical). Sushi is good, but... More

Back in town for a conference and came back to Hare & Tortoise in the Brunswick centre. It's good food, it's healthy and it's the only Japanese around Russell Square. Dinner was a small mixed sushi, some greens with oyster sauce and a mixed tempura. I had one of the deserts this time and it arrived frozen. It was supposed... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
