Café vara vackra bakverk lockade in oss. Normala priser. Café with waiter showing you... More

Yesterday I enjoyed lunch at Patisserie Valerie, Knightsbridge. I was given the choice of a table as the restaurant/cafe was not busy - at 1245. The charming staff were very attentive and my order was very soon taken. I waited about 15 minutes for the food to arrive - grilled salmon with roasted vegetable and french fries - the latter... We arrived for a late lunch and had no problem getting a table. The place was not too busy. The menu had a range of choices and prices were reasonable. We had a ciabatta and a burger, both came with chips and a small side salad. The food was nice, not very exciting but hot. The mozzarella cheese was cold... More

Went for snack lunch a couple of weeks ago. Not shown to a table - just sent across restaurant to sit 'somewhere against the wall'. No menus supplied - took ten minutes to get their attention. Waitress attentive but brusque. Food quite nice. Took another ten minutes to get their attention to bring bill. 15% service charge added to bill.... More

Oh dear, what a shame. This once excellent eatery had well and truly let itself down. I have been coming to this original Valerie for very many years after visits to the V and A and always enjoyed delicious food and good, professional service. My recent visit was so disappointing, both in the service, which was dire and I thought... More

The shop is very nice and clean. Service is bad, we're waited 15' to our sandwich and "fresh" homemade Belgian waffle. Wrong. Neither. It's busy place just because it's on tourist area...don't waist your money.

We have been visiting this restaurant on and off for about 20 years. The brunch used to be first class. Scrambled eggs, crispy bacon (not the flaccid pink stuff) or smoked salmon and a Bellini. On Sunday mornings the you would have to queue for a table with the throngs from the Oratory across the road. The quality and the... More

This was our first morning in this area of London and so the choice of this restaurant for breakfast was quite arbitrary. It was quite busy but unfortunately this was not an indication of quality. The restaurant was not particularly clean and the service was not inspired. Our breakfast was o.k. and the location excellent if you are staying in... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
