Asked for a table and we were told we'd have to share and when we said we'd wait for a table for 2 we were left for 2 hours until we just asked a couple that were leaving if we could have there table. Then, probably cause we were "bold" I had to get the menu's myself, go back up... More

Very pleasant local pub with quality food, a wide assortment of drinks, and a quaint dinning room. Only reason one reason I don't give this place a five star review is because the upstairs was litteted with children in the pub that left a mess all around them that was not cleaned or tended to for some time

Sorry about the mess under the tables, I feel we may have been a tad slow to react to that on the day, but it's good to know what we're missing so thanks for the friendly criticism. Pop back down whenever you'd like and I'm sure we can swing that 4 into a 5 star in a very short space... More

Joined a friend for lunch - ordered the fish cakes with asian slaw and kale salad. Ate it. Absolutely won't eat there again. Slaw/salad was a combo of stir fry pre-pack mixed with baby kale leaves coated in oil. Fish cakes had lumps of overcooked salmon and brown mashed potatoes. Perhaps just not taste -

Lovely pub in Kensington that is even better when the weather is nicer. Perfect outside tables and lovely staff to make your experience memorable. Food could be better though.

Very nice local pub with friendly and helpful staff. Nice selection of craft beers. Food appears to be cooked fresh, not the microwave stuff you get at the chain pubs. A very nice sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

One of the loveliest pubs I've been too. All the staff are great and friendly and make you feel right at home. Food is also delicious - the quinoa burger is my personal favourite. Great location and great atmosphere.

We stopped in for a drink prior to a show at the Royal Albert Hall - its a lovely local pub in Kensington, just about off the main tourist routes and a welcome step away from the hustle and bustle of nearby roads. There were some good ales on tap, though I was served the end of a barrel without... More

Quaint local pub located in a quiet South Kensington backstreet. Serves fairly decent pub grub, good atmosphere and friendly staff. 10 minute walk from Gloucester Road or South Kensington tube stations.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
